NIKE SB DUNK MID The Nike SB Dunk Mid introduced an in-between height to the classic Dunk model under the Nike SB imprint. As a whole the silhouette has a smaller number of highly-sought after colorways than the Nike SB Dunk High and Low, but it remains a popular choice for Nike SB enthusiasts. The Nike SB Dunk Mid traditionally features a strap across the tongue, an element that was removed in 2011 and subsequently brought back in 2012.

The Nike SB Dunk Mid was distinguished by its ankle strap from the time it debuted in 2006 until early last year when the silo was stripped of its velcro.  This unstrapped design lasted about six seasons, until the third quarter of this year when the familiar Dunk Mid Pro SB returned in a Dark Obsidian and Thunder Blue.  The former is back again, this time extending its sueded presence to the entire upper and adding a Metallic Gold swoosh for a November release whose subtle sole speckling you can see in additional images after the jump.  Let us know what you think of this vaguely Michigan-ish style and be sure to check back with Sneaker News for US release info.

nike sb dunk mid baroque brown Nike SB Dunk Mid Baroque Brown White

The term ‘baroque’ is a bit of a confusing one when when applied to Nike SB’s brownout sneakers, that word usually used to denote things with exaggerated and ornate styling. Not that we mind these sort of earthy tones, especially with the Fall’s imminent arrival. Click through with us to check out the no frills Nike SB release and let us know if this Dunk Mid is a pair you’ll be after as you make the transition to the cooler months in the near future. If that is the case then you should certainly get in touch with the folks at Premier who are stocking them right now.

Nike SB Dunk Mid – Black – Brown – Tan

What would happen if you used a velcro strap to bring together several different earthy Dunk Low SB colorways?  It turns out the answer is a Nike SB Dunk Mid, as we see a new edition with plenty of connections to the Swoosh Skateboarding legacy ready for the first half of next year.  These new Dunk Mid SBs have an earthy build with browns and black reminiscent of such styles as this year’s controversial ‘Black and Tan’, 2007′s Joe Strummer Lows (the ‘After’ edition, in particular) or the ‘Embarcadero’ Mids that dropped that same December.  Those three roughly triangulate the finished look of this SS13 drop, and you can see exactly what that means thanks to more images after the jump below.

Nike SB Dunk Mid “Midnight Fog”

The Nike Skateboarding resurrected the Dunk Mid’s signature ankle strap in July with a highly textured summer thunderstorm of a midnight colorway, and today we see how next month’s release offers a logical progression.  Pictured above in Midnight Fog and Metallic Summit White, the Nike SB Dunk Mid sticks with a relatively simple dark palette, but the end result is even more wearable given that it’s just about impossible to come up with a bad compliment for these tonal grey ranges.  Let us know how this its monochromatic appeal compares to the perforated underlay on a similar red pair we’ve seen in recent previews and stick with Sneaker News for release info on the Midnight Fog Mids.

One of the standout designs during the Nike SB Dunk Mid‘s year-plus without the signature ankle strap was last March’s ‘Brickhouse’ edition.  Utilizing a simple red suede upper/white Swoosh and midsole combo along with the classic gum rubber outsole gave that pair a timeless look that gave this often overlooked middle child a much deserved moment in the spotlight.  Expect the new design for spring 2013 depicted above to repeat the same pattern two years later by creeping up on us, then flying off shelves quicker than you’d think for a hype-free release.  Click through for a closer view of the textural contrast between suede, perforated leather and nubby nylon and stick with Sneaker News for release info.  via N-SB
