NIKE SB DUNK MID The Nike SB Dunk Mid introduced an in-between height to the classic Dunk model under the Nike SB imprint. As a whole the silhouette has a smaller number of highly-sought after colorways than the Nike SB Dunk High and Low, but it remains a popular choice for Nike SB enthusiasts. The Nike SB Dunk Mid traditionally features a strap across the tongue, an element that was removed in 2011 and subsequently brought back in 2012.

While the Nike SB division might see a complete dissolve in the foreseeable future, the SB Dunk will remain as a mainstay in skateshops as its heritage product – so no need to worry about a stoppage of SB Dunk flow! This latest release, initially previewed back in November, features a unique distressed texture on the upper that pops emphatically next to the smooth, light beige suede. Add in a solid white swoosh and a solid midsole and you’ve got one of the best SB Dunks for the summer – clean, cool, and rockable with shorts. Nike SB shops such as Premier have begun to stock these on their shelves, so check out the detailed angles below and check with your local Nike SB account to inquire about your own pair!

Like many Air Jordans are, Nike SB Dunks are often distinguished by quick-and-easy nickname derived from the official color coding of the shoe. So when a familiar colorway repeats itself, the moniker usually follows, like last year’s ‘Iron’ Low, which was compared to the original Iron High of 2005. But in the case of this May 2012 release of the SB Dunk Mid, the ‘Iron’ colorway makes another appearance, but not like one would expect; it’s got a completely different color-blocking as it uses the classic two-toned arrangement pairing Iron with Black, so it’s more of a “Re-Iron” rather than an “Un-Iron”. CNCPTS now has these in stock so take a look at the five angles below and look out for these at skateshops soon if they haven’t arrived yet.

The mere mention of the word ‘Iron’ in conjunction with a Nike SB Dunk used to have a 1:1 correspondence with a 2003 Dunk High SB covered in suede of that shade. But then last summer, Swoosh skateboarding revisited this colorway as they have with so many Silver Box classics, which left Google’s SERPs suggesting that last year’s was the more significant release. And while this isn’t exactly factually accurate, it does indeed reflect the extent to which Nike SB has started looking to the past as well as generally ‘older’ looking colorways over the past couple years. This new Nike SB Dunk Mid pictured above in black, Iron and white is a good example, it’s vaguely Raiders-leaning design one of those simple yet effective color combos that could just as easily have been released ten years ago. Nike SB is soon to be revamped with its signature models and others on the verge of wider availability at mall retailers, but here’s a fourth quarter release you’ll only find at select skate shops. The Nike SB Dunk Mid pictured above in Baroque Brown suede with white Swoosh/midsole and dark gum bottom is a look befitting those ‘core’ shops, its simple appeal similar to the red/white/ice joints we showed you last week with that crisp ‘Brickhouse’ look. Will you head out to grab these when they arrive during the holiday season? Let us know what you think after checking out more photos below and stick wth Sneaker News for release info. via N-SB

Every April, Nike SB fans eagerly await the special edition 4/20 release that for the last few years, has been one of the highlights for Nike SB’s yearly output. But with Nike SB going through quite a transitional phase, there hasn’t been much news of a special edition SB Dunk, although we will be treated to a ‘Hemp 4/20′ version of the Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski inspired by the green colorway of the ’04 trio of SB Dunks. April’s still a solid month, with the Deep Burgundy SB Dunk High, four Janoskis, and a slew of other skate-friendly releases like the Team Edition in Old Royal, and the Red/White Zoom Koston One, so check out the Nike SB April 2012 Footwear roll-out and look out for these at SB retailers soon as they’ve already begun to hit store shelves.

It’s a shade we’ve seen on a couple of Nike SB releases during the spring 2012 season, and now the new green in question gets a model to call its very own. History will forever remember this Nike SB Dunk Mid Pro as the ‘Nori’, a sushi green-wrapped ocean treat whose deep sea blues appear in both suede and leather. Other than that material mix (similar to the Highs we just showed you), they’re reminiscent of one of last year’s Seattle Seahawks-inspired Dunk High; which one is a better seafaring SB? Let us know when you click through for more images and grab yours from retailers like Premier.

Nike SB’s biggest hit series continues to reach back to its roots for new releases, this latest a 2012 remix of an ’04 classic that manages to look a bit like the following year’s most memorable hit. This Nike SB Dunk Mid Pro is a ‘Sea Crystal’ both in color code and appearance, but can anyone argue that the adjustment in colorblocking that leads to a black base with Medium Mint Swoosh doesn’t resemble the immortal ‘Tiffany’ look? It’s like getting the best of both worlds unless you’re really into the Mid’s infamous strap; will you look to grab these from Nike SB retailers in March? The UK’s Flatspot already has theirs, and it may be worth checking around to see if they’ve touched down near you at the rate SB products are currently shipping.
