For those sneakerheads who love the traditional styling of the Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski series, February is shaping up to be quite a solid month. Stef’s SB signatures set the table for the rest of the 02/12 lineup, the simple three-toned colorways utilized on the low and midtop versions exactly the kind of simple satisfaction you can expect from the rest of the set. Additional standouts include the Ironstone Dunk Low SB with Barn red accents and the ubiquitous white Dunk midsole, SB Blazers in both High and Low and white-on-black renditions of both Eric Koston and Paul Rodriguez’ latest sig releases. You can see each pair of these up-close by clicking on the jump below, then look for them at select Swoosh skateboarding stockists like Premier.

Aside from the Zoom Kobe VI hybrid that released around the debut of the Nike SB Zoom Koston 1 last summer, you’re looking at a model with simple colorways built right in. Eric Koston’s first Nike SB signature is mostly comprised of a single piece of suede, so the upper tends to be forced toward classically styled looks like the appropriately named Vintage Green pair pictured above. Metallic Silver accents along with a white midsole give these a crisp look that’ll serve you well as we approach spring, then you can toss them into the closet until later in the year when a red lace will make these into one of the more satisfying Christmas-y skate looks in recent memory. Whatever you do, just don’t wait on these because they’ll be gone from Nike SB retailers like Flatspot before long.

We posed the question whether the return of the strapped Nike SB Dunk Mid ’Griptape’ could be a signal that the straps were back for good, and here’s a quick answer to the contrary. Coming up later this month is a set of new Swoosh Skateboarding footwear, the highlight of which has gotta be the above pictured Dunk Mid Pro SB that you might as well call the ‘Suede Supremes’. They echo the Chicago-style version of the famed Elephant Print Dunk Low SBs that the New York scene leaders released nine years ago this month, but come off considerably more subtle thanks to a heavily tumbled texture in lieu of black Elephant markings. Other upoming notables include a Zoom Bruin SB in Gold Straw, a Chicago-style Koston 1 and a burgundy Blazer Low SB, and photos of each pair await your click on the jump below. via SF

The most recent reference to Eric Koston here on Sneaker News depicted his ‘Thai Temple’ Dunk High SB redone to feature a Gucci print. Here’s another case of a Koston shoe taking on a colorway initially made famous by a mid-’00s Dunk SB, the Nike SB Zoom Koston 1 in Paradise Aqua. This isn’t the exact same shade Diamond Supply Co. used on their beloved ‘Tiffany’ Dunks, but the combo of soft blue and black is a surefire way to have sneakerheads thinking of the good old days. That we saw a Zoom Kobe VI-infused hybrid released along with its initial drop seemed appropriate for the Nike SB Koston 1 thanks to both Kobe and Eric’s status as SoCal superstars. And in the wake of the ‘Gorge Green’ ZK6 TB we just showed you, it’s clear the Koston 1 shares even more in common with Kobe Bryant’s sixth Nike Basketball signature sneaker, namely, the ability to make simple colorways look spectacular. This Vintage Green suede goes for a light grey Swoosh, a combo which seems to invite a gum sole for that classic feel. It’s such a given that you practically ‘see’ one peeking out from the side, despite the fact that on this pair, the outsole accent is in fact a speckled grey shade. This solid Koston 1 colorway is slated for a spring 2012 release, so click through for more images and stick with Sneaker News for updates on these and all Nike SB release dates. via N-SB

With the initial releases out (or as in the case of the Kobe x Koston 1, sold-out) to retailers, it’s time we start to look into the future of Eric Koston’s first Nike SB signature sneaker. The Nike SB Koston 1 is ready for Q1 of next year with at least two new colorways on tap, both of which feature the same clean appeal as the best we’ve seen so far. You can pick between blue/white and pine green/silver, both of which have white midsoles and apparently muted shades on the Koston One’s outsole contrast. Click through to see more angles and stick with Sneaker News for updates on these and all Nike SB spring 2012 release dates. via lacebag

Unless you’re the person in your area who decided to parlay the information superhighway into a plush career walking your wealthy neighbors dogs, August is the only month of the year that lacks a significant (read: time off from work) holiday. National Dog Day is on the 26th of next month, but you won’t have to wait nearly that long for the next shipment of Nike SB footwear, which happens to include a birthday celebration in the form of the Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 5 debut. The P-Rod 5 will release in two Chicago Bulls-style LunarLon-cushioned colorways, the Blazer Low SB and recently revived Zoom Harbor SB filling in for the vulcanized sole side of things for the V-Rod and P-Rod set to take a month off. Also riding an autoclaved sole is the Zoom Stefan Janoski SB, which looks a bit different this month thanks to the ‘Boat Shoe’ variant with its unprecedented heel lace on the Dark Oak edition, a Jetstream pair keeping with the sleeker OG design. Last but not least are the Dunk Mid Pro SB in black and white with a gum sole and the ‘Tiffany’ Koston 1s, and you can see images of all of these when you click on the jump below. Let us know which pairs you plan to purchase and stick with Sneaker News for updates on their availibility.

Though the release itself wasn’t a surprise with European retailers having already distributed their pairs over a month prior, the Kobe Bryant x Nike SB Koston 1 did begin hitting US Nike SB spots last week without a whole bunch of noise after that initial event at Nike Vault in May. But West Coast sneakerheads are in luck, as you’ll be able to head down to Paulie Shore’s favorite SoCal locale, where Paul Rodriguez’ Primitive skateshop will have the Kobe x Koston 1 on hand starting at 11am today. Click through to get a closer look then rush out the door and head to Primitive to grab your pair right now.
