Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 7 – Sail – Black – University Red

Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 7 Sail Black University Red

Paul Rodriguez is the longest tenured Nike SB signature rider and just celebrated the release of his seventh pro model (though it’s well into the double-digits if you count the vulc soled pairs and other variations). His Nike SB P-Rod 7 is the product of those many years of refinement, as we see a resemblance to your traditional skate shoe, but with the kind of attention to detail that can only come from that extensive development process. This Sail suede and leather colorway is a great choice for the rest of the summer and you can see more images after the jump before buying at SB shops like Rodriguez’ own Primitive.

Nike SB Paul Rodriguez Premium – Armory Slate – Black

The Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 7 debuted on Friday, July 5th 2013. The tonal tiger-striped red and black pair is the signature look so far; how does that style translate to other colorways? Quite well, judging by how they tackle this next pairing, which gives us more contrast by way of a different blocking pattern. The way all the lines sweep together in alternating shades makes for a vague resemblance to the long-awaited Air Up retro coming up next year, an observation that reflects the P-Rod line’s success in emerging with original designs from the retro basketball-based SB lineup of Dunks and Blazers. Check out this Armory Slate and black edition in more images below and stick with Sneaker News to see when they hit US skate shops.

The Nike SB Paul Paul Rodriguez 7 is a shoe that will up for grabs across a couple separate tiers when it makes its July 5th debut. There’s the premium, the standard model, and then this-the Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 7 VR. This model opts for a little bit simpler tooling on the bottom, using a vulcanized outsole to give it a more of a traditional feel. The first colorway we’ve spotted for the shoes also get away from the flashy black and red motif, this one mixing up matte silver and white. Take a better look at the Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 7 VR just after the jump and watch for them to pop up next week on Nikestore.

Earlier this month Sneaker News and Nike SB signature athlete Paul Rodriguez took some time to chat about his newest pro-model by the Swoosh – the Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 7. For a guy who has been under the Nike label for almost a decade (and boasts one of the longest sig-shoe lineages in the brand’s history), Rodriguez continues to maintain that fresh-faced energy as he thrashes skateparks around the globe. It’s this sort of energy that makes the athlete and the product bearing the name that much more of a draw, but it’s the pure design and function of the shoe that has us impressed. Nike has always captured the essence of the skate shoe while incorporating some next-level technology that other brands are still working to achieve, but the design and detail is what makes the brand the undisputed industry leader.
