Nike SB V-Rod – Black Elephant

When sneakerhead historians look back to the early days of his Nike SB signature series, they’ll note that one of the key Paul Rodriguez colorways was his appropriation of the ‘Supreme’ look found on a legendary Dunk Low SB.  The Supremes, in turn, had borrowed their signature Elephant Print look from the Air Jordan III, and it’s back again on what instantly becomes one of the stand-out Nike SB V-Rod releases.  Cast entirely in black tones, this model is sure to draw comparisons to the upcoming Air Jordan III ‘Black Flip’, but at almost half the MSRP and alredy available, they’ll take over some of that shine for a while.  Check out some more angles after the jump then look for these at SB stockists like Premier.

When you command the kind of attention that Paul Rodriguez does in the skateboarding world, you get the benefit of putting your hands on a couple different signature models instead of sticking to a single sneaker. So while the P-Rod V gets the futuristic Lunar treatment for the sole kit, Mr. Rodriguez still gets to rep that OG skate style with a vulcanized sole, manifested here in the Nike SB V-Rod. This Spring 2012 colorway features an organic green coming in a nice suede, with a black leather swoosh for a bit of contrast. Check out a full view of this upcoming V-Rod and stick with us for release info. via N-SB

Nike SB V-Rod – Jade Stone – White

NIKE SB VULC ROD JADE STONE WHITE Nike SB V Rod Jade Stone White

A Nike, Inc. color more popular in the mid ’00s, Jade Stone has been conspicuously absent from notable releases over the past few years.  It’s highly ironic, too, given the variety of Chinese Jade colorways we’ve seen in recent months, not to mention how nicely this muted green shade would look in all manner of subtle colorways.  Luckily, it’s not to late to manifest the latter of those, and Nike SB’s newest Vulc Rod release makes the most of it by centering the green canvas in a field of charcoal grey suede for another one of those models you can pair with practically any wardrobe options.  Click through to see more angles and get yours from a Nike SB retailer like Flatspot.

Paul Rodriguez’ fifth Nike SB signature sneaker is among the most premium skate shoes on the market, but it’s not the only P-Rod with a ‘V’ in its name.  And while LunarLon is indeed an impressive cushioning technology, you can’t go wrong with the combination of vulcanized sole and Zoom Air heel cushion that’s in play with the Nike SB V-Rod.  The Vulc Rod will release next spring in another two-toned colorup, this Chicago-style suede lowtop accompanied to market by a matching skate bag.  Click through to see more angles, let us know how these compare to the other V-Rods we’ve seen recently and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date.  via N-SB

Bruce Lee Foundation x Nike SB V-Rod

Just over two months ago, Sneaker News scooped you on an upcoming collaboration that would see the release of a Bruce Lee-inspired collection from Paul Rodriguez’ Nike SB sublabel.  Along with the Nike SB Vulc Rod, we expect three graphic tee shirt designs, which means that there are still two more beyond these new images today.  The V-Rods are fairly simple in black suede with a red sole, so it’s the ‘De La China Con Furor’ poster tee representing the Spanish dub of ‘Fist of Fury’ that might be the most intriguing part yet of this Bruce Lee Foundation collaboration.  Click through to see the tee and the V (-Rods) in more images after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date.  via N-SB

Nike SB Vulc Rod – Black – Gum

The P-Rod 2.5 was the first secondary shoe from the line and Paul Rodriguez’ first vulc-soled Nike SB signature, a model whose forebear featured a Gucci-inspired quilted side panel design.  This P-Rod II-born design element didn’t show up on the 2.5s all that much but here’s a new Nike SB V-Rod that’s as close as we’ve seen in a couple years.  These match a black diamond-perfed leather upper to a gum rubber bottom for a clean look with just enough extra to turn heads, and you can find them now at NikeStore.

Nike SB V-Rod – Dark Loden – Black – Sport Red

July 10th, 2011 by | 1 comment

nike sb dark loden black sport red Nike SB V Rod Dark Loden Black Sport Red

As most of the high-tech shoe wizardry from Nike has been traditionally devoted to their running and basketball lines, skateboarders are used to having to work with less. In the early days they were forced to appropriate basketball shoes to their liking a la the Dunk, long before any shoe company was catering to their tastes. While a fair amount innovations are going on in the skate sneaker world, check out the P-Rod V for the best recent example, there is still something to be said for the bare bones elements that skate shoes rely on. The Nike SB V-Rod keeps this in mind, opting for a shoe that focuses heavily on the vulcanized sole, an undeniable piece of skate shoe heritage. This nice colorway comes in a darker get up, with a bit of sport red on the midsole and under the tongue for some pop. Hit the jump for a detailed look at this edition of the Nike SB V-Rod, available now at Flatspot.
