It was removed from the Nike SB regular rotation to make room for Stefan Janoski’s docksider-inspired signature, but is the model pictured above really any closer to a traditional boat shoe than, say, Paul Van Doren’s original Authentics? The Nike SB Zoom Harbor certainly has a clean design, but its correspondence to the high seas isn’t as obvious as the Janoski line. Then again, this tonal (off-) white look does indeed remind one that plimsolls have been in use on and around the beach since they were first created some 180 years ago. Unless you’re the person in your area who decided to parlay the information superhighway into a plush career walking your wealthy neighbors dogs, August is the only month of the year that lacks a significant (read: time off from work) holiday. National Dog Day is on the 26th of next month, but you won’t have to wait nearly that long for the next shipment of Nike SB footwear, which happens to include a birthday celebration in the form of the Nike SB Paul Rodriguez 5 debut. The P-Rod 5 will release in two Chicago Bulls-style LunarLon-cushioned colorways, the Blazer Low SB and recently revived Zoom Harbor SB filling in for the vulcanized sole side of things for the V-Rod and P-Rod set to take a month off. Also riding an autoclaved sole is the Zoom Stefan Janoski SB, which looks a bit different this month thanks to the ‘Boat Shoe’ variant with its unprecedented heel lace on the Dark Oak edition, a Jetstream pair keeping with the sleeker OG design. Last but not least are the Dunk Mid Pro SB in black and white with a gum sole and the ‘Tiffany’ Koston 1s, and you can see images of all of these when you click on the jump below. Let us know which pairs you plan to purchase and stick with Sneaker News for updates on their availibility.

For a time sent out to sea by Swoosh Skateboarding, the Nike SB Zoom Harbor has returned as a regular release. The latest is among the most simply satisfying we’ve seen, a black and white design whose upper is constructed in a denim-like woven textile. These joints offer no-nonsense style with the superior skatability of a vulcanized sole + Zoom Air cushioned insole and offer a bit of ‘sleeper’ appeal at a time when many SB drops are hyped for months on end. Click through to see more of the black/white Zoom Harbor SB and grab yours today from select retailers including the UK’s Flatspot.

With the East Coast having experienced a particularly nasty winter, it’s nice to know that spring is right around the corner. Along with warmer weather, you can expect a whole new batch of kicks from Nike SB and here’s a preview of Swoosh Skateboarding’s May 2011 releases. We’ll start with the revitalized Nike SB Dunk Pro, which’ll be dropping in the ‘Seattle Seahawks’ suede colorup, another high in Deep Burgundy and Aquamarine and one low that owes a debt of gratitude to the ‘Aqua’ Air Jordan VIII. Along with the return of the Zoom Harbor, Stefan Janoski’s deck shoe-inspired signature will release in both low and mid cuts, as will the SB Blazer CS. Rounding out the set are three different Paul Rodriguez models: the ‘Cali’ P-Rod 2.5, a white P-Rod IV and the Vulc-Rod in navy with white and red accents. Click through to see all of em and stay glued to Sneaker News for updates on these and all Nike SB release dates. via MIA
