Most of the released colorways of Eric Koston’s Nike SB Zoom Koston 1 have been fairly simple (tip-toe-ing on ‘plain’). It’s nice to finally see one with a bit more pizzazz and eye-catching appeal, like this new August 2011 release in Paradise Aqua and Blue Slate. We can expect all of the Koston 1 colorways to be basic due to the easy-going two-toned nature, but throw on something tropical like Paradise Aqua and you’ve got yourself a refreshed take on this high-performance Lunar-cushioned skate shoe. Flatspot has them in early so look out for these at your local Nike SB account soon.

The first half of 2011 is almost behind us, and looking back at the first six months of releases, we’d have to say that Nike Skateboarding is back on track. Arriving for the beginning of the second half are these new releases from Nike SB, which includes the Nike SB Dunk High ‘Red Devil’, inspired by the ‘True Red’ SB Dunk Low, as well as a new SB Dunk Mid in a basic White/Red/Black colorway (think of it like a leather version of the Ryu Mids). Also included is a blue suede Janoski Mid, an all-new colorways of the timeless Blazer, and a new V-Rod and Zoom Koston 1. Premier skateshop has these July releases in early so check out all six after the jump and let us know which pair stands out the most!

Eric Koston is one of the few riders on Nike SB’s current active rosters who can remember a time in the mid ’90s when pretty much all skate shoes looked like the one pictured above: a simple two or three colored palette featuring a suede upper and gum rubber on the outsole. This upcoming colorway from his Nike SB Koston 1 is also somewhat similar to one of the initial releases that just hit store shelves, though a black midsole with just a hint of gum peaking out at the toe makes for a much darker and more serious feel compared to the lighter pair. Click through for more angles and hit up Flatspot because they just made these available.

Eric Koston’s first Nike SB signature sneaker is also Swoosh skateboarding’s first LunarLon cushioned design, and it will begin its second year with a collection scheduled for spring of 2012. The Nike SB Koston 1 keeps it simple as always, the shoe’s one-piece suede upper and unique two-tone outsole allowing for potentially hundreds of simple yet satisfying palettes. Two such colorways just so happen to be slated for Q1 of next year, with one going the earthy route and another vaguely reminiscent of the Chun-Li Dunk Low SB from last year’s Street Fighter Pack thanks to a gold toe complimenting its otherwise Dodgers-esque getup. Click through for closer views of both and stick with Sneaker News for updates including the US release dates. via N-SB

Tomorrow, Eric Koston will have officially solidified himself as one of the great Nike athletes that have left behind storied legends. Koston joins one of Nike’s newer wings – Nike Skateboarding – during a time where skating is viewed as no longer an activity for the rebellious and mischievous, but for the meticulous. Skating is as much an art form as it is a means of getting from point A to point B, and the Nike SB Zoom Koston 1 takes the classic skate shoe to another level, using Nike Lunar cushioning as the primary comfort agent. Three colorways are set to hit Nike SB retailers tomorrow, so take a look at this great set of detailed images courtesy of CtotheJL and hit up your local Nike SB account tomorrow, or snag a pair now on eBay.

Unless you have a few thousand to spare, you simply aren’t going to get the deluxe humidor-encased version, but what about the Nike SB Koston x Kobe 1 general release edition? We showed you a detailed look at these last week and can now confirm that despite a June release date here in the states, they’ve already popped up at select retailers. Barcelona’s TrustNobody got their shipment of the snake-scaled textured suede Kobe x Koston Ones this past weekend, but as you’d expect, the tiny 12-pair run sold out promptly Saturday morning. It’s been two years since Eric Koston joined the Nike Skateboarding team, and since then, Koston’s been riding in a number of different Nike SB models like the Blazer CS, Blazer Low, and his Nike SB Dunk Low/High ‘Koston’ that dropped last year. He now has a shoe to call his own, one that is truly distinguished from the rest of the Nike SB line thanks to the LunarLon cushioning. A release event at the Nike Vault also allowed 24 lucky Koston fans to grab the super-limited Nike SB Kobe x Koston Humidor box, a rare set highlighted by the funky Kobe VI x Koston 1 hybrid shoe. But June 4th is the date to circle if you’re been excited about the first Lunar-cushioned skate shoe, so check out Nike SB retailers like Premier on release date to cop your pair, or go ahead and grab the Blue pair early on eBay.

Nike Vault in Los Angeles, CA opened its doors for the unveiling of the Nike SB Zoom Koston 1, Eric Koston’s first signature model with Nike Skateboarding since joining the team in mid-2009. Sneaker News has been providing details, colorways, and release info for the upcoming sneaker, but one recent report showed two funky-looking pairs of the SB Zoom Koston 1 that appeared to have a Kobe VI-inspired upper design. Turns out that Koston, an avid Laker fan, adopted the Kobe VI styling onto his signature shoe and came up with the Nike SB Kobe x Koston 1, which features the slithery Kobe VI upper with the LunarLon cushioned outsole. During the event, Koston spoke about his first signature shoe, his reason for using LunarLon, and the concept behind the Kobe VI-infusion, and a few lucky event-goers got a chance to walk away with a limited edition set, which was limited to twenty-four units. Continue reading for a nice recap of the event below courtesy of SlamxHype, and if you’re interested in buying one of the super-limited humidor box sets, check out the available listings on eBay.
