Is the Nike SB Janoski the longest-running signature Nike sneaker of all-time? It’s certainly looking that way, because after nearly five years in existence, not so much of a sniff at a Janoski 2 has crept out of the kitchen. But why mess with a proven formula? It skates well, it looks good, and we’ve barely touched on colorway options like floral and other graphic prints, so expect the Janoski 1 to get plenty of more shine in 2013. In our Independence Day preview of the colorways coming up for Spring 2013, we noted that the presence of a mint-laced tonal red Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski Mid alongside the ‘Bubble Gum’ pair with an identical template suggests the red joints’ outsoles also match their strings. This suspicion is confirmed faster than we would have guessed, as the midtop Stefan Janoski signature is back with another round of preview images. The aforementioned ‘chewy’ pair has its pink base on display in addition to photos after the jump that reveal these styles’ mix of suede and satiny nylon. Sneaker News recently showed you how Salvation applies custom patterns to liven up Nike SB’s Stefan Janoski signature sneaker. Meanwhile, Swoosh skateboarding sticks to its line and continues to craft subtle new takes on Stef’s sigs, including a new pattern manifested in triplicate on the Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski Mid. Pictured alongside the black/white standby design for next spring are three relatively simple designs that might be easy to overlook were it not for the mint laces on the tonal red pair, or the fact that color must be on the outsole too, given that the ‘Bubble Gum’ edition is pictured with pink laces. Add in a blacked-out neon-laced edition and you’ve got an understated variety here, all of which you’ll see in greater detail below. via N-SB

While P-Rod is undoubtedly the resident Michael Jordan fanboy amongst the Nike SB team riders, there’s no doubt that the rest of them are familiar with his legacy both on-court and on-feet. Perhaps hinting at that is this new colorway of the Nike Zoom Stefan Janoski Mid (notice the Nike SB nomenclature getting left in the dust), with a black and red pairing that may not be of the varsity persuasion but feels a little MJ nonetheless. Wingtip shoes have always been a popular style of dress shoe, but it’s made a furious leap into the casual lifestyle sector – particularly with sneakers. Skate brands like Vans and Nike SB have dabbled with the prim and proper wing-tip styling, with the latter pushing forth the ‘Brogue’ edition of the mid-top Janoski that hit stores in 2011. Solecity Pinas tweaked the Mids by giving it an all-black upper with a contrasting white toe-cap for an old-school appeal. Better than the originals? A design so good it can’t be contained by just Swoosh skateboarding retailers, the Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski Mid is back with a new colorway for April that might remind you of something labeled ‘SB’ from last month. Its application in canvas twill makes a pretty big difference in the green in question when compared to March’s all-suede Dunk Mid SB ‘Nori’, but given that these two and a single Blazer Low SB are the only pairs to ever feature it, they’re bound to be linked until we see more. So is this new Nori twill as seen on the Stefan Janoski Mid SB yummier than the suede shade from the aforementioned Dunks and Blazers?
