Nike SB just proved that navy and brown on one of Stefan Janoski’s signature sneakers is a can’t-miss proposition, so despite the proximity to the recent ‘Inuit’ Quickstrike, this new Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski Mid is sure to attract a sizeable following. This shoe has become immensely popular because of its crossover appeal, and you can’t get much more versatile than a colorway that can accommodate almost any clothing options you might consider wearing with them. They don’t have the fuzzy sockliners that marked the ‘Inuit’ drop, but these should prove equally serviceable (if not more so) when you pick up a pair from Nike SB retailers like Flatspot.

As promised just a short while ago, here’s a look at January 2012′s Nike SB Quickstrike footwear. For those of you who might be novices to the sneaker game, a Quickstrike means these two pairs are released in limited numbers, and available in-store only. For experienced sneakerheads, it means extra collectability and often signals top-tier construction and materials. Both of next month’s pairs echo one of the trends we’ve seen in early ’12 previews, namely a reliance upon black as the centerpiece of a series of simple colorways. For the Nike SB Dunk High Pro, it’s a tumbled Clay suede atop crisp black nubuck, while the Zoom Stefan Janoski Mid SB switches its black upper to suede and goes with a gum brown vulcanized sole. It’s not even Christmas yet (we know that because the Air Jordan XI Retro ‘Concord’ is still awaiting its early morning mass mobs lineups), and already select Nike SB retailers are starting to get their January 2012 footwear in stock. Let’s start with a Nike SB Dunk Low in a bold mix of navy blue, black and gold whose basketball-like pebbled underlay makes these even more of a reminder of Michigan’s Nike days. Coming up next is something you might expect more from Wisconsin, a Golden Hops suede-backed Dunk Mid Pro SB whose black leather overlay that looks so supple they could be a Premium. The Stefan Janoski makes an unprecedented offering with black and Anthracite pairs releasing in both the lowtop and Mid silhouettes, a simple black suede design echoed by the ’SB Chronicles’ Team Edition SE we’ve shown you a couple times this week. Rounding out the set are a ‘Tiffany’ Zoom Bruin SB and the Omar Salazar LR in navy and white, which means this is the first month in a while without a P-Rod signature model. One way of putting it is to recognize that a new Team Edition SB sneaker is on the way featuring a design elements borrowing from the above pictured release, and they were announced before these even hit retailers! This wingtip-esque Zoom Stefan Janoski Mid SB comes in a rich Chestnut leather that adds the array of perforations and stitching lines known as ‘brogue’ detailing for a look that’s among the most formal we’ve seen from this already-upscale design. They’re sure to fly off SB store shelves soon after arrival, so be ready when these hit shops like Caliroots on December 15th.

The Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski and its midtop variant are naturally conducive to simple colorways, and many of these have offered neutral and otherwise subtle looks over the past couple years. But here’s a new pair you can expect for 2012 that might be the most aggressive one we’ve seen yet, a black canvas pair adding red accents along with a white vulcanized sole. They don’t have the leather and suede necessary for a true comparison to the ‘Vamp’ Dunk Low SB, but that’s still a bit closer than the obvious Chicago Bulls connection inherent to any bred sneaker release.
