The Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski Mid released this July in a ‘Blackout’ colorway and there’s another on tap for next spring with the same black-on-black upper but a gum brown vulcanized sole instead. Both of those pairs are cast in dark suede, but right in the middle is a blacked-out leather version of the Stefan Janoski Mid SB that’s arguably the cleanest of the three thanks to the classic contrast from a black-banded white vulc sole. They’ll keep the cleanest in nasty weather, too, thanks to a weather-resistant upper similar to the one we saw on last December’s Dunk High SB. In the time since we saw the first Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski Mid with wingtip-style brogue detailing, we’ve seen the Team Edition 2 SB come along and stake a permanent claim on this classic footwear embellishment. Which one does it better? In this latest view of the Zoom Stefan Janoski Mid SB ‘Brogue’, we get a sense of how the soft caramel leather upper will look in real-world situations such as on a home’s hardwood floors. Wing-tip detailing provides instant transformation for any piece of footwear, adding a splash of personality to plain ‘ol dress shoes and sneakers. For the Janoski – the unofficial Nike SB ‘dress shoe’ – it adds plenty of character, the detailed perforations and stitching sends it to another level, and based on the widely positive review from the first preview of the Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski Mid ‘Brogue’, it’s a personality that we can all get along with. While a release date hasn’t been set for these just yet (although a preliminary Holiday 2011 Below The Line release is what’s rumored for these), these are certainly one of the more anticipated Nike SBs for the remainder of the year. We’re still living out the dog days of summer, but Nike SB is already prepared for when the weather gets warm again. We’ve seen quite a few previews from Swoosh Skateboarding’s spring 2012 footwear catalog, and the latest to get a close-up treatment is one of Q1′s Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski Mid colorways. These blend a golden brown suede with blue canvas for another can’t-miss ‘grown-up’ look that’s just the type of thing that’s made this series so popular in its short tenure. This week has been chock full of Swooshed deck shoes as the Nike Post Harbor was unveiled and we got a glimpse at several upcoming Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski colorways. The ‘Boat Shoe’ version also released earlier this week, but the one pictured above goes for the first variant from Janoski’s signature line. The Zoom Stefan Janoski Mid SB will see one drop a month in next year’s Q1, the only one of which we hadn’t individually previewed to this point the above pictured black suede and gumsoled design. The Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski debuted earlier this year in the simple black/white colorway, an inverted scheme of which was later released as a Quickstrike exclusive to Nike SB shops. This ‘Below the Line’ release was deemed unavailable for phone or internet orders by Beaverton mandate, but the Swoosh has also gone in the opposite direction for select SB releases. For instance, the original lowtop Stefan Janoskis and a few P-Rod models have popped up at the Nike Sportswear flagship store in New York along with the scant few that’ve popped up on NikeStore. This new City Navy Zoom Janoski Mid is in that latter category, a model that has us wondering if the Stefan Janoski signature series is moving its way toward mainstream distribution like the P-Rod line, and one that you can grab right now from NikeStore.

New colorways have been somewhat less infrequent since the barrage of previews and releases in May, but that doesn’t mean the Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski Mid‘s best days are behind it. Quite to the contrary, in fact, as evidenced by this spread of spring 2012 releases, a trio that looks to have something for everyone for the upcoming Q1. We’ve seen each of these models previewed before, including the black/gum edition, the red leather pair and the blue/brown edition that has us excited about possible new colorblocking patterns to come. Much has changed for Nike Skateboarding in the year 2011. The Nike Dunk Pro SB underwent some minor re-tooling, the Janoski got a bit taller, and Eric Koston got his own signature shoe, among other things. For 2012, things will continue the way they have been – keeping the Dunk simple while pushing forward the lifestyle-driven SB models like the aforementioned Janoski and Blazer. Nike SB recently previewed some upcoming 2012 Footwear and Apparel releases at the Bright Tradeshow, which featured a nice showcase of upcoming footwear like the aqua/black SB Dunk Mid and some nice Janoski Mids. The Nike SB P-Rod Collection will also be in full force, with a fresh variety of apparel to accompany his kicks.
