More new SBs, more classic colorways. Nike’s skateboarding division has been quite busy reprising its greatest hits in 2011, and as we’ve seen with previewed pairs like the ‘Tiffany J-Pack’ Dunk Low SB, you can expect this trend to extend through the ‘end of time’. 2012 might see the Mayans proven right, but we know with considerably more certainty that this new Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski will be compared to the 2003 ‘Takashi’ Dunk Low SB thanks to the combination of black leather and suede along with gold accents and a white sole. Is SB taking it too far with all these ‘revisited’ releases, or will you welcome more of a return to the brand’s earliest established core competencies? If any of you have tried to skateboard in the winter weather…well you know that it just doesn’t work. Skateboarding never stops though, right? Nike SB certainly doesn’t seem to think so, pumping out new releases for the core skate-crowd that are among the more functional in their footwear line up. We’ve got a couple of signature sneakers here, with Janoski and P-Rod both dropping new pairs of their latest, and a Nike SB Harbor to round out the set. From Todd Bratrud’s stash pocket-hiding ‘Skunks’ to the chiefable ‘Cheech & Chongs’, to yet another two-toned Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski with a gum sole? Strange clouds seem to be rolling in for Swoosh skateboarding’s next spring, namely a new April Twentieth-inspired sneaker to take the place of Bratrud’s dope Dunk releases these past two years. These green-accented white suede Stefan Janoski SBs are sufficiently subtle that they could just as easily pass for a ‘Boston Celtics’ colorway as anything green, but perhaps this ambiguity will help to avoid the legal issues that plagued the most recent Dunk High SB and prevented its timely release. Nike Inc. introduces new colors fairly often, but you’re just as likely to be seeing a long lost shade if there’s something on the color code of your newest purchase that doesn’t seem familiar. Just as is the case with the sneaker scene over this past decade, streetwear options are far more varied now than they were around the turn of the century. The highlight of Nike Skateboarding’s November 2011 releases was supposed to be the highly-anticipated ‘Entourage’ SB Dunk Low, but Nike SB fans were down-trodden at yet another delay. That doesn’t mean the November 2011 releases aren’t strong, because there are still a ton of great SBs worth adding to the rotation. The U.S. Passport Dunk Lows look to be an official November release (although some spots have released them early), but check out the duo of Janoskis, more from the P-Rod line, and a new colorway of the Zoom FP. To suggest that the Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski does well with two-toned colorways adn a white vulc sole is a gross understatement. Janoskis come in a range of variants these days, but you can always count on the application of a simple new colorway to demonstrate how much a great silhouette can do with so few colors. The latest is a tonal brown suede combination of Umber and Boulder whose piping seems especially seamless with embroidered Swooshes streaking across the side panels in the same shade. They’re a great go-to design if you need a versatile shoe on any but the sloppiest of winter days, and you’ll find them available now at select Nike SB stores including Flatspot.

We sincerely hope that none of our readers out there have had the misfortune of spilling a grown-up beverage on their kicks. Despite the horror typically induced by staining up your favorite pair, this upcoming colorway of the Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski wears the look well. The tan upper comes splotched with patches of ‘Vino Rosso’ (red wine in Italian) that continue on the detailed insole. Fans have been waiting for the elusive release date on this Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski for a minute now, and with all the leaks we can only hope that they will hit retail soon.
