Most recently modified to feature a uniquely shaped autoclaved sole, the Gato line continues Nike’s small sided football series with another new variation in time to celebrate 100 years of US Soccer. Following up on the new Centennial Jersey comes the Nike5 Gato USA 100, a design featuring revised polygonal structures on the lateral sides. The more significant alteration for this particular USA 100 rendition is the translucent sole that reveals the US Men’s National Team’s newly adopted crest, so have a closer look below, then buy yours straight from NikeStore.

Nike Street Gato ‘Wasp’

The Nike Street Gato is starting to pick up steam after a fairly erratic release schedule in its debut year.  2012 looks like we can expect a nice variety of colorways, and following up on our preview of an all-blue suede pair last week, here’s one that opts for an entirely leather construction.  The mix of black and dark grey works nicely against Wasp yellow and just a hint of blue on the ‘GATO’ tag, a blocking pattern that we could imagine working beautifully with a huge range of color palettes.  This one keeps it relatively simple, belying the complexity of its triangular-textured medial sides, and you’ll see these details in more in additional photos after the jump.  via Sneaker Freaker

Nike Street Gato – Blue Suede

nike street gato blue suede 3 570x379 Nike Street Gato Blue Suede

For years, Nike has seemed content to sit back and let adidas dominate the indoor soccer shoe market, but perhaps as Three Stripes looks to expand and give the Swoosh a run for its money in basketball and elsewhere, it’s time to reevaluate what Beaverton can do for short-sided football.  The Nike Street Gatois a great start to what could be a formidable line of footy shoes, and is starting to show what it can do in a variety of colorways.  Coming up for early next year is this blue suede edition that maximizes the casual appeal of this design without watering down its technological advantages.  The black accents make for a ‘J-Pack’ vibe but the medial tessellated texture makes it obvious these were built for ball control, and you can see more angles after the jump.  via Sneaker Freaker

Nike Street Gato – Cool Grey

The maority of the colorways released so far have been associated with a collaborator or theme, so what happens when we get a new Nike Street Gato offering nothing but its own merits?  Street-friendly style paired with impressive short-sided football performance to boot, the Street Gato is quite strong in Cool Grey suede plus a bright blue Swoosh on the side panels.  It’s a look that’s not quite as eyecatching as the Dark Grey and neon edition, but is likely a better match for a wider variety of clothing options, and all of these colorways have the added benefit of textured panels on the toe and medial sides to improve ball control if you actually use these for a game.  Additional images await your click on the jump below, and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for the release date on this soon-to-drop Street Gato.  via SF

While his name might not ring bells here in the US the same way it does in the rest of the world, you oughta know who Christiano Ronaldo is. Nike has partnered up with Ronaldo on a new collection that runs from high end soccer gear to more street ready sneakers. Our pick from the pack is the Nike Street Gato CR7, a special reworking of the indoor soccer shoe that gets the full Ronaldo treatment. Inspired by his affinity for clean white designer sneakers, this pair goes with a set of milky tones on the upper along with some black and red hits to tie in with his Real Madrid uni. Get some up close shots of the sneaker after the jump and let us know if you’ve been feeling the Nike Street Gato releases in the comments.

LIVESTRONG x Nike Street Gato

Lance Armstrong doesn’t always add the name of his store in Austin, Texas to the LIVESTRONG x Nike collaborations, but when he does, it’s an indoor soccer shoe.  Ok, so maybe the man for whom Mellow Johnny’s is named isn’t exactly the most interesting in the world, but there could easily be two Xs in the name of this product to denote its connection with the LAF charity along with the founder’s retail spot.  This LIVESTRONG x Nike Street Gato comes in the grey plus yellow palette that these collabos have relied upon in recent months, the traditional all-caps yellow tongue tag replaced by the MJ logo and its signature lone star.  Click through for a couple more angles and grab these straight from Mellow Johnny’s.

Nike Street Gato CR7 – Cristiano Ronaldo

Nike has given increased attention to indoor soccer shoes over the past year or so, starting with the Lunar Gato that offered its take on Cristiano Ronaldo’s completely Safari’d Mercurial Vapor Superfly II.  From the Lunar Gato emerged the Street Gato, a decidedly more aggressive pyrimidal traction surface on the medial toe and instep among the more unique design elements we’ve seen on any shoe in 2011.  The name of this shoe is still the Nike5 Street Gato, but now there’s a CR7 attached to the end as we come full circle for a Ronaldo-inspired edition in Light Bone leather that references his Real Madrid jersey number.  The addition of a vibrant red sockliner underlines the Street Gato’s capacity for both performance and street-level casual style; look at them in more detail by clicking on the jump below.  via SF
