British sneaker specialists Size? have racked up quite a few collaborative releases in recent months, and just like the majority of those exclusives, these go for a casual approach with old school sport inspiration.  The Size? Nike Sportswear capsule brings us four new Nike Tokis along with two All Court Mids, all crafted in premium leathers and brushed suede, and all occupying the cool part of the color wheel where you’ll find blue, grey and white chillin’ in perfect harmony.  Especially with the tonal blue background, this is one of the frostiest sets we’ve seen without overt winter theming, and it looks like we’ll be seeing the 500 pair runs of each design releasing gradually over the next few months.  Stick with Sneaker News for the exact release dates, and in the meantime, click through to see the whole capsule.

Rumors circulating in the middle of this year regarding the Nike Toki‘s demise (or at least temporary retirement) were premature, and the Nike Sportswear lifestyle sneaker lineup is all the better for it. They’ve come together with to of the Swoosh’s dressier best and this trio of leather-wrapped-gumsoled Quickstrikes instantly stands out as among the nicest looking casual packs NSW has ever issued. A Henna brown leather Toki Supreme is joined by the relatively new Hachi in Pecan and an Aina Chukka whose woven body is cast in Dark Cinder with a moccasin toe added for good measure. This trio is a promising look at what we might expect from Beaverton’s top-tier casual releases moving forward; which of the three catches your eye? Click through for a series of new images and expect these in the US soon; they drop tomorrow at Tokyo’s Nike Harajuku.

Nike Sportswear ‘Gum Leather Sole’ Pack QS

December 1st, 2011 by | 1 comment

nike sportswear supreme qs gum leather sole pack Nike Sportswear Gum Leather Sole Pack QS

Nike Sportswear continues to diversify their range of lifestyle sneakers, dropping this quick strike pack with a collection of mids that adopt the brown shoe look. The trio consists of the Nike Toki, Nike Hachi, and the Nike Aina Chukka which all get a deep tan leather for the upper. The truly remarkable part comes on the lower construction though, with a leather midsole wrapping around the shoe and gum bottoms for the outsole. The Swoosh styling on these is pretty minimal, showing up through the perforated sections on the Hachi and Toki and even less than that on the Aina Chukka, resulting in a pretty clean look. nike toki premium coming to nike id Nike Toki Premium Coming to Nike iD

If the ‘South Beach’ LeBron 8s were so popular because of the storylines leading into the release of the Nike LeBron series’ most exuberant colorway to date, does that mean the Nike Sportswear lifestyle sneaker King James wore during ‘The Decision’ earn a similar gravity?  Well the Nike Toki has already managed to stave off rumors of its demise and it remains NSW’s premier casual design, and now you’ll have a chance to create a pair exactly as you see them in your imagination.  Will you go with a brown upper like LeBron, perhaps with a leather-wrapped midsole?  Or maybe you’ll go for the traditional white vulc bottoms and add a bit of flavor via independently-colored eyelets?  The choice will be yours when the Toki hits NIKEiD on November 22nd, and you can see a quintet of sample designs when you click on the jump below.

Nike Toki ‘BBQ Brown’

November 13th, 2011 by | 2 comments

nike toki suede brown size 06 Nike Toki BBQ Brown

Sure the Nike Toki may not have the storied lineage of some of the other Swoosh models, having made its debut in 2008, but that’s no reason to sleep on this lifestyle silhouette. During its relatively short life span, this chukka sneaker from Nike Sportswear has gotten the premium treatment again and again (check out the recent Size? exclusives and these perforated joints for proof). As a shoe that doesn’t get too wild colorway wise, the Nike Toki looks best in these muted looks, like the so called “BBQ Brown” version shown here. Get the full look at this fall sneaker after the jump and pick up this pair of Nike Tokis at Size? right now.
