One of the longest-running college football rivalries in history is the Army/Navy clash, which dates back over a century. With this Saturday’s game marking the 112th match-up between the two schools, Nike Training will release the Army and Navy colorways of the Nike Trainer 1.3 Mid Shield ‘Rivalry Pack’; each pair features a special design specific to each school – Army with the a tonal Khaki/Desert with a true Army font the on the heel, and the Navy utilizing its academy colors with an accurate Grey/Navy colorway. The Nike Trainer 1.3 Mid Shield has been in the spotlight a fair amount recently, thanks mostly to the various iterations of the ‘Rivalry Pack’. Well if you want to stay neutral in all of that business, or maybe none of the collegiate colorways lined up with your alma mater, here’s a version of the trainers in a clean stealth get up. The pair mixes up greys and whites, with a bit of blue on the eyelets and lining and a nice speckled look on the midsole. Every NCAA football season, Nike Training treats us with some great college-inspired colorways of its new Nike Trainer models. Last year’s Zoom Huarache TR Mid extravaganza was certainly one of the best ‘Packs’ that we’ve seen, and the Rivalry Pack of the Trainer 1.3 Max from just a few weeks ago was definitely a great way to butter us up for the ongoing 2011-12 campaign. The Rivalry continues as we get a look at the weather-ready Nike Trainer 1.3 Mid Shield in four team colorways; starting with Michigan State, which is available now, the Trainer 1.3 Mid Shield Rivalry Pack features unique detailing on the midsole as well as school-specific graphics on the heel. You can see similar appliques on the Oregon, which drops this Saturday, as well as the LSU and Ohio State joints, which will drop on 10/28, followed by the Stanford colorway (those arrive on 11/26).
