Debuting as a part of UNDERCOVER’s SP12 ‘Gyakosou’ collection, the Nike Zoom Elite+ 5 has given us a relatively high percentage of unique colorways, even if the overall selection is still somewhat sparse. This new pair adds to both, offering a Phoenix Suns or Clemson Tigers alternate/away look with energy reminiscent of the Swoosh’s early ’90s gamechangers, but featuring a black base for a more aggressive lean. Stick with Sneaker News to see how this black underlay works with an equally eye-catching purple/green build and grab yours today from retailers like Caliroots.

While Nike has perfect the formula of a ‘comfortable running shoe’ over a decade ago, adding some useful upgrades can only boost your performance and running experience, right? Throw in Zoom cushioning for a super-responsive ride and hte new Dynamic Fit for unbridled mid-foot stability, and you have a supreme running shoe constructed with proven building blocks that have made Nike the unparalled athletic performance outfitter it’s been for years and years. Three new colorways of the Nike Zoom Elite+ 5 have hit Nikestore, so if you were already won over by this model when we showed you the UNDERCOVER Gyakusou collection, don’t hesitate to cop one of the available pairs now.

It might be a tough name for English-speaking sneakerheads to wrap their heads around, but Jun Takahashi’s UNDERCOVER label is back with another ‘Gyakusou International Running Association’ collabo complete with a load of new gear and a few of the most progressively paletted colorways we’ve seen on a cutting edge performance runner. The UNDERCOVER x Nike Zoom Elite+ 5 brings three mens and a WMNS colorway to the table, with two of the new Lunarspeed Lites rounding out this latest GIRA-themed pack. The former looks a bit like a Free Run+ 2 with a cushion swap that reflects the Japanese market’s enduring love for Zoom-cushioned runners, while the latter perhaps most strongly resembles the LunarSpider+ series that Takahashi’s loved so well to this point. This spring collection brings a bunch of excitement with new silhouettes, enevelope-pushing colorways and the first Gyakusou drops for ladies, so have a closer look after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates including release info.
