The Zoom Huarache 2K4 has been recalled by many ballers of this generation as the most comfortable pair of basketball sneakers ever made. That’s certainly a bold statement, but they’re definitely leaning in the right direction because the 2K4s might be the perfectly build bball sneaker; full-length Zoom provided perfect support, the heel-counter kept the foot in place, the ankle cut provided sturdy protection, and the inner bootie made sure the foot was locked down. There’s still one more Huarache 2K4 set to arrive (the Olympic joints, dropping in early July), but we’re hoping there’s another one on the way, like this unreleased sample colorway in Black/Scarlet Fire-White. If there are more 2K4s scheduled for Fall and Holiday 2012, we’ll keep you posted, but in the meantime, peep the images below and check out the full listing from identitiesrevealed on eBay.

“…Tyson, Jackson, Jordan, Game 6…”
Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, James Harden and Co. are in. They sealed the deal on Wednesday night in Oklahoma City, finishing off their Western Conference Finals opponents in four straight games and punching in Oklahoma City’s first NBA Finals appearance in history. Out East, LeBron James and the Miami Heat faced elimination as they tipped off in Boston down 3-2, and what we witnessed was a magnificent performance on offense and defense. LeBron James, who is rather expressive on the court (whether it be jovial or in complaint), had a stone-cold stoic demeanor from beginning to end, dropping 45 points in what is undoubtedly his greatest NBA Playoffs performance of his career. He’s gone one to go on Saturday night – will he lead the Heat to a Finals showdown against the Thunder? Photos: yahoo

2004 is the one Olympic summer of the past two decades USA Basketball would like us to forget, but that doesn’t mean that Nike shared the slump that resulted in Athens’ unacceptable bronze medal performance. To the contrary, Nike Basketball was working at the peak of its powers around that time, having just authored a modern classic whose performance and comfort are still legendary even with all the advanced synthetics and new cushioning platforms we’ve seen debut since. The Nike Zoom Huarache 2K4 was/is just that good, and this cleanly blocked Lush Teal and New Green combo offers a look you’d only see in this new decade. Have another look below and find these at select retailers like Mr. R. Photos: ITSB

There are subtle variations in blocking from pair to pair on this latest run of Nike Zoom Huarache 2K4s, but the key unifiying theme in all of them is the blend of that modern classic with the simple palettes that’ve typified the early ’00s. This latest pair goes with a Chicago-style combination that we’ve known as (one of) basketball’s best for over a quarter-century, but the application of red-on-red in several key areas points to the current era of origin. Check them out up close after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for word on the US release. via Taobao
