When the Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low was announced, people started to salivate over the thought of the flyknit low arriving at store shelves. We were promised a purple pair that made reference to Michael Jackson (just see that moon printed bottom for proof) and a colorway that nodded at Beethoven in a predominantly white look. This University Red rendition stands out enough on its own, and is sure to be a big hit thanks to fitting in with that near all-red sneaker craze we’re currently occupying. If you needed any more reasons to pick up the pair, know that it glows in the dark. That’s right, speckling on the midsole, laces and heel shimmer in that green glow in low lighting. Stick with us after the break for more from this Kobe 9 Elite Low and know that this pair is set to release this Saturday, September 13th at shops like Oneness.

The thought of an ‘asterisk’ has been thrown around in 2012 NBA Playoff conversations for a number of reason. Derrick Rose, the reigning MVP, was done after just one game of the Playoffs, and the season itself was shortened by 16 games with a schedule far more condensed. Despite what went down, the Philadelphia Sixers (8 seed) defeated the Rose-less Chicago Bulls (1 seed) in six games, with a Game 6 sealed by Andre Iguodala who displayed one of his best games of the year, contributing 20 points, 7 dimes, and 4 boards while hitting the game-winning free throws at the end. During the series, Andre wore the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Elite Low of a PE variety, featuring a red Swoosh and the A7 logo on the tongue. He’s not the only fella rockin’ the Elite Lows, as other Nike swingmen like James Harden have been ballin’ in ‘em too. We’ve got another look at the shoes as well as Iggy wearing them in-game, so take a look and let us know if you think Philly can push forward with their momentum and take down the Celtics in Round 2!
