Before the weekend’s main event tips off, here’s a quick preview of the Nike 2012 All-Star Game ‘Galaxy’ PE’s you’ll see in action. Just yesterday, we showed you Deron Williams’ Hyperdunk 2011 Low PE, but joining that cast of Nike characters is the Nike Zoom Hyperenforcer, the Air Max Hyperdunk 2011 in two colorways, the Zoom Brave V, and Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Supreme. The most recent Nike Zoom Hyperenforcer to make a splash was the ‘Think Pink’ version, a bold breast cancer awareness colorway. This upcoming Hyperenforcer goes the opposite way color wise grabbing just black and white for the upper, but still manages to be unique with the striped look on the various panels of the shoe. The result really shows how far the the black and white approach can be stretched given a little geometric detail, with the patterning not quite reaching Freegums levels but still standing out. Last week was an absolutely massive one for NIKEiD, as the Swoosh’s online customization service launched new models including the Zoom KD IV (plus its YOTD template), Special Field Boot and the return of the Air Max+ 2009, followed a day later by Elephant print options for the latest Air Force 1 iD limited engagement. It was a big couple of days, but arguably none of those shoes came with more options than the Nike Zoom Hyperenforcer iD that also launched on January 31st. These offer a variety of colors in relatively simple blocking patterns, but the big draw is the unprecedented option to choose between Zoom and Max Air cushioning in the heel. Nike Basketball tends to give models like these unique names, but in a year when we’ve seen the Zoom Kobe VII and Air Jordan 2012 take swappable cushioning units to new heights, it feels right to have a silhouette that you can build from the ground up.
