Before there was Nerf, Weatherman, or Aunt Pearl, the most popular and recognizable Nike KD colorway was the “Creamsicle”, seen above in six different styles. The “Creamsicle” was almost like an Alternate take on the OKC jerseys, with an incredibly vibrant orange with blue accents making up the theme, and although the Creamsicle lineage stopped rather early at the KD II, NIKEiD allowed the legend to continue on the following models. In this set of Nike KD shoes, KD III through the KD 6 are indeed iD-designed versions, but which of the entire group is your favorite? Check ‘em all out below and give us a shout.

nike kd vs lebron Comparing the Nike KD and LeBron Through The First Six Models

LeBron James and Kevin Durant and unquestionably 1a and 1b on Nike’s order of importance, but they took different routes to climb to their respective points of success. While LeBron James was a major focus on the marketing side of things, the Nike KD took a rather inconspicuous route with a bargain price-point and relatively quiet marketing push. Still, their resumes up to that point were eerily similar, and now that Durant and LeBron are ready to battle it for the true #1 spot of Nike signature shoes, let’s take a look back at the first six of Nike KD and LeBron.

It didn’t take long for Kevin Durant to make his mark in the NBA. Upon entering the league with the Seattle Sonics, the second overall selection of the 2007 Draft proved he was one of the best scorers in the league by dropping 20 a game, and after a change in scenery from the Pac-Northwest to the Midwest in OKC, his scoring marks went up a quarter in his sophomore year. By his third season, Kevin Durant established himself as a shoo-in to the mid-season All-Star Game, and by the fourth, he became a permanent fixture in the Starting roster. As he embarks on a sixth appearance in All-Star Weekend (his fourth overall All-Star Game) this weekend, let’s take a look back at all the sneakers he’s worn during the star-studded affair.

Nike Zoom KD III Mike Miller Playoff PE

It’s been almost four months since the 2011 NBA Finals came to end, but some stories from that epic series have re-surfaced in a surprising, unexpected manner. Four months ago today, Mike Miller of the Miami Heat wore a special PE colorway of the Nike Zoom KD III – a patent leather colorway with red and black alternate color-blocking which matched the Miami Heat alternate uniforms. A decent yet rather forgettable sneaker in the midst of all the other Nike LeBron and Jordan Fly Wade PEs that were all the rage, the Nike Zoom KD III Mike Miller PE came and went and was soon to be forgotten. Out of nowhere, those PEs popped up for sale at Jimmy Jazz, a reputable online and brick-and-mortar retailer of Nikes; they’re almost entirely sold out, and at a generous sale price of $59.99, there’s no reason why these wouldn’t fly off the shelves – PE designation or not. Check out the extra shots of these funky KD IIIs as well as some in-game shots of Miller wearing them during the Finals and let us know what you think of the colorway.

Check out some Kevin Durant’s most notable sneaker moments below, which include the Nike Mag 2011, Air Jordan III, Air Jordan XIV (pictured above), and the Nike Zoom KD III, and let us know what your favorite Kevin Durant sneaker moment is.
