Nike Zoom KD III – Scoring Title Home PE | Available on eBay

Kevin Durant’s scoring dipped by 2.4 points from last season, but that resulted in a five-win increase and a trip to the Western Conference Finals. Durant’s the type of player to prioritize his team’s success over his individual accolades (which the 2010-11 NBA Season was a great example of), but he still managed to be the best scorer in magnitude and scooped his second straight NBA Scoring Title. Concordantly, Nike hooked up KD with a special ‘Scoring Title’ PE of the Nike Zoom KD III, which featured an angelic white-based colorway and a personalized graphic on the upper. These have dropped overseas in China already, so stick with Sneaker News for possible U.S. release info, or snag a pair of these right now from kiddcandy-2008 on eBay.

Nike Zoom KD III ‘Horse Hair’

Sneaker News just showed you a close-up look at Kevin Durant’s ‘Scoring Title Home’ PE Nike Zoom KD III, but that’s not the only model from the Durantula’s third Swoosh signature that was designed to commemorate a back-to-back championship involving a bunch of high-percentage shooting.  Durant is, and for the forseeable future will remain the NBA’s sole HORSE champ, and since he’s too good to even test, Nike crafted another special colorway, this time in black with blue and white accents plus a beige horsehair ankle collar.  Clearly this hair didn’t come from the red horse depicted below in mid-jumper, but then again, Nike gave up exotic animal materials a while back so the only remote cruelty on display here is reminding Rajon Rondo and Omri Casspi how thoroughly they were shut down at Cowboy Stadium.  Click through for a closer look, let us know how these compare to the other Zoom KD 3 PEs we’ve seen over this past season and stick with Sneaker News for updates on the Zoom KD IV including its US release dates.  via Weibo

Kevin Durant sealed his second straight NBA Scoring Title by averaging 27.7 points for the Northwest Division leading Oklahoma City Thunder. Durant later sported a sick ‘Home’ PE colorway of the Nike Zoom KD III ‘Scoring Title’ with a detailed design that KD specifically used to honor the important figures of his past. Here we have a look at an alternate colorway of the Nike Zoom KD III ‘Scoring Title’ in a dark red/blue colorway; it features the same graphic on the upper panel with a tonal red upper (no Flywire!) and a solid photo blue outsole and inner lining. Another Zoom KD III colorway has also surfaced; this metallic silver/black PE was specially made for the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (you might’ve seen the Hyperfuse Low PEs before). Continue reading for another look at both new PE colorways and stick with Sneaker News for more updates regarding possible releases. via weibo.

NBA Feet: 2011 Playoffs – Heat vs. Bulls Game 5 Recap

May 27th, 2011 by | 25 comments

nba feet 5 26 11 summary NBA Feet: 2011 Playoffs Heat vs. Bulls Game 5 Recap

On July 8th, 2010, LeBron James made a public announcement on ESPN, wearing a red and white checkered shirt and some Nike Toki Mids, to make known his decision – one that would change the NBA horizon for the next decade. What resulted was a public backlash, labeling the player who was once a king as a Judas – a traitorous individual who would forsake his people without looking back. LeBron James has made it clear time and time again that his ‘decision’ was based on professional success, and recently apologized for the way the whole ordeal transpired, but in the end, what matters is that the decision was the right one, because LeBron James is back in the NBA Finals, joining his teammates Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

The road to the Finals was not an easy one; constantly under the eye of public scrutiny, the Miami Heat were not the record-breaking juggernaut everyone assumed they would be, as they managed to win an impressive yet underwhelming 58 regular season wins, a far cry from the 72 wins set by the Chicago Bulls in the ’95-’96 season. Still, the Miami Heat, who captured the number-2 seed in the Eastern Conference, steamrolled through the Playoffs and won when it truly mattered (up to this point), and a rematch of the 2006 Finals is now set. For this fifth and final game of the ECF, LeBron James debuted an all-new PE colorway of the Nike LeBron 8 PS, a two-toned black and red colorway that matched the Heat’s away uniform. Dwyane Wade wore the ‘Away’ PE of the Jordan Fly Wade, and Mike Miller switched over to the Zoom KD III ‘Blackout’. The 2011 NBA Finals are now set, so check out the Game 5 recap below and stick with Sneaker News for NBA Feet coverage of the Finals. via Yahoo!.

NBA Feet: 2011 Playoffs – Thunders vs. Mavs Game 5 Recap

May 26th, 2011 by | 13 comments

nba feet 5 25 11 summary NBA Feet: 2011 Playoffs Thunders vs. Mavs Game 5 Recap

On January 4th, 2000, a billionaire entrepreneur named Mark Cuban purchased the Dallas Mavericks, a struggling franchise entrenched in a blight of perennial losing seasons. With no light at the end of the tunnel,Cuban directed the Mavericks to the NBA Finals in just six years, the first in franchise history, earning a reputation as one of most supportive and dedicated owners in professional sports. At the same time, Cuban has not had a smooth relationship with the NBA front office, as he’s incurred more than $1.5 million in fines for incidents involving referees and league officials, with the most notable of Cuban’s outcries stemming from that 2006 Finals series – one that Tim Donaghy claimed was fixed in favor of Miami Heat.

Since that controversial series, Mark Cuban has wheeled and dealed and continued to spend while sticking his head in nearly every big-name free agent/trade discussion. Amidst criticism from so-called NBA experts and fans from around the league especially after losing to Golden State in the first round of the Playoffs in 2007, Cuban continued to trust and build around his superstar Dirk Nowitzki in an unflinching manner, and his devotion has clearly paid off the Mavericks easily defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder in five games and have earned a second trip to the NBA Finals. Two-time scoring champ Kevin Durant have been sent home early, but the future is as bright as ever for the Thunder, so expect them back in the 2012 Finals mix. A rematch of the 2006 NBA Finals looks to be in the books, so stay tuned to Sneaker News for more 2011 NBA Playoff updates as we approach the Finals! via Yahoo!.

It was Game 3 action over the past weekend, as both Conference Finals series switched venues to Oklahoma City and Miami. Both series were tied up at 1-1 heading into Game 3, giving two teams to either regain Home Court advantage or steal it away. Starting with the OKC/DAL series, the Mavericks, led once again by Dirk Nowitzki, managed to pull off a Road victory to avenge their Game 2 loss. A look at the kicks showed Kevin Durant wearing the Zoom KD III ‘Scoring Title’ Home PE for a portion of the game, Jason Terry in his Reebok Zig Slash PE, and Shawn Marion in the Air Max Fly By. Moving down South, Chris Bosh poured in 34 points to lead the Big Three to a Game 3 win.
