One outta two ain’t bad, whether you’re talking about hitting shots from the field or winning a road game against your favored opponent in the Western Conference Finals.  But when it comes to celebrating a major regular season award, one simply isn’t enough, so when his Thunder take to the Ford Center court in Game 3, Kevin Durant will break out the ‘Home’ edition of the Nike Zoom KD III ‘Scoring Title’ PE.  These joints are white where the ‘Away’ pair was black, making the unique interlocking letter pattern on the side panels considerably more visible, which makes for an interesting foil against the forefoot Flywire panel.  Click through to get a better look at a model we should see on Saturday night and stick with Sneaker News to see the Zoom KD III Scoring Title ‘Home’ PE in our NBA Feet feature.

By just his fourth season, Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant has managed to lead a young, relatively inexperienced squad to the Western Conference Finals. In his Western Conference Finals debut, Durant displayed the reason why he won his second straight scoring title by dropping forty points, but the older, wiser, and more experienced Dirk Nowitzki countered with 48 points of his own, leading his Dallas Mavericks to a Game 1 victory. In the losing effort, Durant wore the Nike Zoom KD III ‘Scoring Title’ Away PE, a sneaker we previewed yesterday. Does Durant have more 40-point outings left in him for the remainder of the series? Check out the Durant and his Zoom KD IIIs after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for more NBA Feet coverage. via Yahoo!.

NBA Feet: 2011 Playoffs Round 2 – Part 1

May 2nd, 2011 by | 11 comments

nba 2011 playoffs rd 2 pt 1 summary NBA Feet: 2011 Playoffs Round 2 Part 1

The 2011 Playoffs have entered the semi-final round of play, and over the weekend we got a glimpse of all the exciting action to come. Down in Florida, the Miami Heat faced off against the Boston Celtics in a heated match-up of two championship contenders. LeBron James, in the ‘Home’ colorway of the LeBron 8 P.S., and Dwyane Wade, in the Jordan Fly Wade PE, took home a Game 1 victory and a significant edge in the series. Ray Allen, in the Jordan Phase 23 Hoops, and the Rajon Rondo, in the Zoom Kobe VI, did what they could to hold off the Heat. The surprising Grizzlies continued their Cinderella story by winning Game 1 and stealing home-court advantage by defeating the OKC Thunder by a comfortable margin, led by big-men Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol (both in the Air Max Fly By). Kevin Durant (Zoom KD III) and Russell Westbrook (Hyperfuse 2011) chipped in a combined 64 points, 19 rebounds, and 9 assists in a losing effort. NBA Feet: 2011 Playoffs Round 1 – Part 4

April 25th, 2011 by | 5 comments

nba 2011 round 1 part 4 summary NBA Feet: 2011 Playoffs Round 1 Part 4

Four games into Round 1, and the picture depicting the NBA Champions are a bit more clear. For one, it’s not orange and blue, thanks to a four-game sweep at the hands of the Boston Celtics. Carmelo debuted the ‘Home’ colorway of the Jordan Melo M7 Advance, Amare Stoudemire finally revealed a new PE of the Zoom Huarache TR Mid in a blazing orange and white colorway, and Jermaine O’neal wore a Black/Green colorway of the Nike Hypershox 2011. Is the championship picture White, Red, and Yellow? It could be, but the Sixers avoided their own 0-4 sweep by winning Game 4, giving us at least one more opportunity to get a look at the LeBron 8 P.S. Black/Sport Red and D-Wade’s Jordan Fly Wade in the Away PE version. Atlanta got closer to pulling off an upset, as the Hawks took a 3-1 lead in their series with Orlando. The sneaker highlights included Gilbert Arenas’ Nike Air Go LWP, Q-Rich’s Jordan Play In These PE, and Joe Johnson’s Jordan Prime 5. The Bulls still hold a strong 3-1 lead, but an injury to Derrick Rose paired with the Pacers intensified play could change that series.

Out West, Zach Randolph proved that he was worth every penny by hitting a key three-pointer at the end of the game to give the 8-seed Grizzlies a surprising 2-1 lead against the San Antonio Spurs. Kevin Durant, who had been wearing the Zoom KD III ‘POP’ for the first two games, sported a new colorway of the Zoom KD III en route to a win in Game against the Nuggets. One of the more interesting match-ups has been the Blazers/Mavericks series, currently tied at two games a piece; LaMarcus Aldridge wore the Silver/Red PE colorway of the Air Max Hyperdunk 2010, but we should see the second Playoff version soon. The Lakers/Hornets match-up has been a good one as well, and so have the sneakers! We got a look at a new PE colorway of the Nike Hyperfuse 2011 on Lamar Odom as well as a Jordan CP3.IV Home PE. The First Round of the Playoffs are at a halfway point so check out the full recap of the games from the last three nights below! via Yahoo!.

Kevin Durant’s got that ‘EPIC’ in him. The intangible force the propels great basketball players into legends of the sport. That indescribable ‘IT’ factor that manifests itself for 48 minutes a night. KD, the league’s top scorer for the second season in a row, dropped 23 on Wednesday en route to Game 2 victory, and is just another two short of advancing into the Second Round in a match-up against either the Spurs or the Grizzlies. Kevin Durant’s been wearing the Nike Zoom KD III POP, which features a White/Photo Blue upper, a two-toned blue gradient on the upper, and orange trim on the swoosh border and KD logo on the tongue. He’s likely to wear a different colorway once the series shifts ‘Away’ for KD, so check back with Sneaker News for the best NBA Feet coverage of the 2011 Playoffs, and pick up a pair of the KD III POP now from 95soleman on eBay.

Nike Zoom KD III – Three New Colorways @ NikeStore

nike zoom kd iii three new colorways available Nike Zoom KD III Three New Colorways @ NikeStore

Barring some absolutely bizarre circumstances over his Oklahoma City Thunder’s last 13 regular season games, Kevin Durant is set to capture his second consecutive NBA scoring title.  And with Kobe Bryant not getting any younger plus each of the other four members of the current top five sharing a spot with one teammate, it’ll take an equally strange development (or maybe Monte Ellis shooting even more often) to see anything stand between KD and an MJ-like streak of PPG crowns.  And while it’s premature to suggest his career arc is anything like Jordan’s, Durant is also enjoying the strongest year yet for his signature sneakers, a fact punctuated with an exclamation (or three) in the form in these new Nike Zoom KD III colorways.  Two of the three make use of gradients along their side panels while the black pair goes for a carbon fiber inset, instead opting for an opalescent finish on the forefoot Flywire that has us wondering what other kinds of special sheens we could see come playoff time.  Click through to get a better look at all three new colorways of the KD3 and grab yours today from NikeStore.

nike basketball 2011 all star footwear player breakdown Nike Basketball 2011 NBA All Star Footwear – Player Breakdown

With the 2011 NBA All-Star Game arriving this Sunday, let’s take a look at what all the All-Star Nike athletes will wear for the game. Starting on the Eastern Conference starters, LeBron James will wear his Nike LeBron 8 V2 and Amare Stoudemire will shed his Zoom Huarache TR Mid for the Nike Air Max 360 BB Low ‘East’. Reserves Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, and Chris Bosh will also wear the Nike Air Max 360 BB Low ‘East’. Moving to the Western Conference starters, Kobe Bryant will wear his Nike Zoom Kobe VI and Kevin Durant will wear the Nike Zoom KD III. The rest of the Western Conference roster – Pau Gasol, Blake Griffin, Deron Williams, Russell Westbrook, and Dirk Nowitzki – will wear the Nike Air Max 360 BB Low ‘West’.

This will be an interesting transition for many players who have worn shoes that offer different advantages, like the lightweight Nike Hyperfuse, the high-cut ankle of the Nike Air Max Hyperdunk 2010, or the responsive nature of the Zoom Hyperfuse Low. Check out the entire Nike Basketball 2011 NBA All-Star Roster after the jump and let us know which team will win the 2011 NBA All-Star Game, and pick up one of the Nike Basketball 2011 NBA All-Star releases tomorrow at House of Hoops or on eBay.
