With the past couple of Nike Zoom KD IV releases like the ‘Nerf’ and ‘Weatherman’ getting snatched up so quickly, you’d better have a plan for KD’s latest from the Nike Basketball ‘Christmas Pack’. Its closest relative based purely on the colorway, the Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Copper’, was gone off retail shelves in the blink of an eye-so don’t expect heads to sleep on these either. Up to this point the supposed Christmas tie in has been pretty elusive, but the shot after the jump of the insole displays a cookie looking KD logo. Nike Basketball’s Christmas Day 2011 Pack doesn’t have the cohesive theme that last year’s big three shared, but even without the unified backstory, each of these new pairs is arguably better than its counterpart from last year. The LeBron 9 is quite similar to last year’s V/2s, so this new one wins on tech upgrades while the Zoom Kobe VII looks even wilder as a ‘Cheetah’ than last year’s model did posed as The Grinch. And for Kevin Durant’s Nike Zoom KD IV, it’s a metallic bronze upper giving these a more upscale feel compared to the bright yellow KD3s, a look that brings just the right amount of bling to the holiday set. These new images remind us these ship with black and red laces, and though they’re expected in select stores on Christmas Day, the release info remains something of a mystery. Nike Basketball broke the red and green mold with last year’s Christmas Day Collection that featured the LeBron 8 V.2, Zoom KD III and Zoom Kobe VI in a ‘Signal Your Color’ theme. Each shoe had its own inspiration, yet they came together to form something like a stoplight, but this time around the big three sigs each go their own way at the fork in the road. The Nike LeBron 9 stays with the seasonal theme with its red upper adding white accents and green laces, and even the Zoom KD IV can be seen as somewhat traditional with its ornamental Metallic Bronze upper adding red laces. And while there are also red laces and (neon) green accents on the Zoom Kobe VII Supreme, that shoe’s ‘Cheetah’ colorway takes it even further than last year’s ‘Grinch’, and is easily the most inventive and indirectly Christmas-y of the bunch. Which of these three do you like best? Let us know when you click through for more images, and stick with Sneaker News for updates on these December 25th releases (that’s right, more presents on Christmas!). via 23penny1

Kevin Durant is absolutely owning the month of December with these sick releases. December alone will boast three high-energy colorways of the Nike Zoom KD IV – the Weatherman, the Nerf, and the Christmas. This year’s Yule-tide fare isn’t what you might’ve expected in terms of what we usually associate with Christmas colorways, but neither was last year’s tonal yellow Zoom KD III! The Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Christmas’ will featured a uniform metallic copper upper – the color made famous by last year’s release Nike Air Foamposite One of the same nickname. It features a solid black outsole with a matching swoosh, KD heel logo, and inner lining. The colorway itself has a very interesting ‘Black History Month’ twist to it, and with the KD IV being one of the six confirmed Nike releases for the 2012 Black History Month Nike Collection, it could be quite similar to what we see here. Check out the detailed images of the Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Christmas’ and stick with Sneaker News for more information on this eye-catching release, currently slated for a late December drop.
