This weekend was huge in shaking out the NBA Playoff picture and featured dominant performances from some of the game’s elite. Key among those was Kevin Durant’s effort in Los Angeles on Saturday night, which has the Thunder on the verge of the Western Conference Finals after another comeback victory over Kobe’s cracking Lakers. Durant noted in his ‘Sunday Conversation’ with ESPN that the road to coldheartedly crushing and staring down the crowd at Staples Center was one he nearly quit in the face of tremendous adversity, and it’s that kind of passion and tenacity that defines this colorway of his fourth Nike Basketball signature. Nike N7 Zoom KD IV – Release Date

The Nike N7 Zoom KD IV was starting to feel like something of a PE once Kevin Durant broke them out after word of a sudden and substantial release date delay, but now comes word that they’ll actually be arriving a bit earlier than we expected. From April 1st to June 12th to now May 25th for the N7 KDIVs, both ‘Home’ and ‘Away’ editions designed in the signature N7 colorway and promoting Nike’s campaign to support athletics in North American aboriginal communities. One can’t help but wonder if we might see the black pair as OKC heads to Dallas for Game 3 of their opening round series, but we know with greater certainty when we’ll be able to get them, so stay tuned for more updates regarding online availability (remember, the Aunt Pearl won’t hit Nikestore).

A few weeks back, we brought you a first look at a new N7 version of the Nike Zoom KD IV set to be a part of Nike’s upcoming summer 2012 collection. The Nike N7 initiative is a program created to help bring sports and physical activities to Native American and Aboriginal communities, and with the large populations residing in the Oklahoma area, Kevin Durant has become very familiar with the program and the people that it helps. When it came time for the next round of Nike N7 releases, Durant stepped up to collaborate on some special KD IV’s as his personal offering to the “Everybody Leaves A Footprint” campaign. The shoe was done up in both black and white colorways, each richly decorated with the special touches that have come to be expected on N7 footwear. The shoes won’t hit NikeStore and other select retailers until later this summer, but in the meantime, you can get a look at them on Kevin’s feet tonight against the Clippers.
