Go long! Well, not too long. According to Kevin Durant himself, the Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Nerf’ is scheduled for an official release on December 17th, 2011, one week before the Christmas Holiday weekend. The ‘Nerf’ colorway is undoubtedly the most colorful of the entire Zoom KD history, but is it the best KD of all time? It certainly has garnered the most attention thanks to the dope packaging, high-energy colorway, and general holy-crap-that’s-awesome concept. Sneaker News provided you detailed shots of the Zoom KD IV ‘Nerf’ not long ago, so be sure to take a look again if you need a thorough look, and let us know in the comments how badly you want these!

Kevin Durant is undoubtedly the most versatile player in the NBA. His ability to play multiple positions on the court is mirrored by the all-new Adaptive Fit system, which permits the Zoom-cushioned Nike Zoom KD IV to be a sneaker for players of all positions. Kevin Durant’s game is that of natural leadership and carrying the bulk of the load (two straight scoring titles and delving further into the NBA Playoffs every sesason is proof of that), but we’d like to remind you that Durant’s got a playful side about him – he’s just 22 years old! He’s active on Twitter, meaning he’s accessible to the masses, and he’s got no issues with donning gaudy chains and tribal gear as one of the original Nike ‘Hyperizers’ – even his Zoom KD III was partly designed after his love of video games.
And so, with the Nike Zoom KD IV scheduled for a wide release this December 3rd, Nike has teamed up with Hasbro to create a special pair of the Nike Zoom KD IV inspired by one of the generation-defining toys in this era – Nerf. The spongy toys that ran rampantly throughout the 1990′s returns alongside the Zoom KD IV, colored up in a high-energy assortment of neon tones and confetti-like detailing and packaged with a spongy Nerf mini-basketball with the box folding into a functional backboard and hoop. On the tongue you’ll see the classic Nerf logo as well as KD35 in the similar typefont for even more of a playful vibe. We’ve got a detailed look at the Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Nerf’ below, so check ‘em out and stick with Sneaker News for more updates and release info for undoubtedly the most exciting Nike Zoom KD release yet.

Look back to the Nike Zoom KD II and you may remember that part of the design concept of the shoe was taken from Kevin Durant’s love for video games. Fast-forward to this ‘Nerf’ colorway, and now things might not appear so puzzling. It’s true – Kevin Durant is just one big kid. Here’s another look at the Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Nerf’; the colorway is rich with bright neon colors, with a speckled midsole matching the gritty detailing on the mid-foot strap and the Nerf-inspired KD35 logo on the tongue. We’ve already seen Durant rock these during the charity exhibition game in Oklahoma City in October, and with a projected release date in November, these bad-boys can be on your feet soon enough. We’ve got additional shots of this upcoming release below, so check ‘em out and stick with Sneaker News for more release updates. via NDP.
