Texas is the 11-seed in the East bracket of the NCAA Basketball Championship Tournament, but ’4′ is the number we care about here. The Longhorns will take to the court at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, not too far from where the other orange-and-white UT plays their home games, but Austin’s favorite sons will have an advantage over the default ‘home’ Cincinnati Bearcats thanks to this dope Nike Zoom KD IV PE. These will arrive at select retailers on Saturday, but if you want to make sure you can get yours in support of Friday’s first round game, grab a pair early r750223hoon on eBay.

Kevin Durant’s Oklahoma City Thunder continue to lead the Western Conference, tied with the Chicago Bulls in the loss column for the NBA’s best record. It’s crazy to think that this leading MVP candidate and back-to-back scoring champion would only be in his rookie year had he stayed in college for four season, and following that speculation would naturally result in wondering how many nets KD and the University of Texas may have captured. Durant didn’t get the Longhorns an NCAA title in his lone year in Austin, but he continues to contribute to Rick Barnes’ team with efforts like this new Nike Zoom KD IV PE. UT will need a strong statement in the Big XII Tournament to get into the Big Dance this year, but you’re invited to peep some new photos after the jump and grab a pair early from Kicks-crew.

The popularity of the Nike Zoom KD IV is at an all-time high right now, with the most recent ‘All-Star’ release commanding over triple its retail value in the open market. But the KD IV is just the perfect storm of awesome design (props to Leo Chang) and Durant coming into his own, so we’ll just go ahead right now and say we’re fully expecting a Zoom KD IV ‘League MVP’ colorway this June. Looking at something a bit more current (and concrete) is the Texas Longhorns colorway that just hit retailers in Asia; it’s got the two-toned clay brown and white appeal with the official Longhorns logo on the tongue with the KD logo on the heel. Additional angles laid out or you just below, so take a look and cop one of the available pairs from krzakicks on eBay.

Many of today’s NBA greats like to give props to their beginnings for helping shape their talents into superstardom. Kevin Durant, who could be regarded as one of the best players of all-time, is a former Texas Longhorn, and his impact in just one season of play is still felt today at the Frank Erwin Special Events Center. Last month, Sneaker News gave you a look at Kevin Durant’s tribute to his alma mater – the Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Texas Longhorns’ PE; the Longhorns have already put them to use and will likely continue to do so in the postseason, but you can have your hand in the action too when the KD IV ‘Longhorns’ goes on sale at Nike retailers overseas on on March 1st, according to Nike Basketball Hong Kong. We’ll keep you updated on a U.S. release, but check out these new images in the meantime and let us know what you think.
