Do you remember when the ‘South Beach’ LeBron colorway found its way onto a pair of slides way after its original release, offering up a sort of consolation prize for all those who missed out on that smash hit sneaker? Well it looks like the same might be in the works for the Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Weatherman’, no doubt one of the most popular pairs for Durant’s current sig. Pictured here is the first we’ve seen of any sort of Kevin Durant slide model, done up with that coveted colorway and the minty fresh ‘Easter’ from earlier this year. You can always count on the hosts and guests of BET’s 106 & Park to show off some sick sneakers, but when Wale’s the guest of honor, you know Terrence J is gonna come out with some sick sneakers. During a recent episode of the shoe, Wale took center stage while wearing the Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Weatherman’, keeping the Adaptive Fit straps partially unstrapped for a ‘winged’ appeal, but Terrence J was neck-and-neck as he wore the brightly-colored Nike LeBron 9 ‘All-Star’. In a separate taping, Terrence wore the Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Galaxy’ as well, drawing fits of jealousy from viewers on location and at home. Kevin Durant has embraced social media like no other NBA superstar has, and because of that, we’re finding out that Durant’s a lot more interesting than his stoic demeanor and small-market team foundation suggests. Forgive the pun, but it’s hard to imagine a storm more perfect than the confluence of forces at work in this insane upcoming Kevin Durant Nike Basketball signature. The Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Weatherman’ capitalizes on the fourth KD sig’s synthetic construction in a way that demonstrates not only TPU snakescales that can look amazing with a printed graphic. Add in the fact that this shoe designed in tribute to a young child’s career aspirations, just happens to belong to the greatest player in Oklahoma City Thunder history (a new team formed in Durant’s second year and the only one in NBA history named after a meteorological phenomenon), is the kind of poetic timing that happens oh so rarely. And the Weatherman KD IV is drawing mainstream media attention for its distinctive style and story, this clip from the Weather Channel proving the shoe is much hotter right now than the chilly 39 registering in OKC at the time this segment was captured. Now that the NBA is back on the radar, we’ll all be blessed with a proper sequel to the best regular season in decades, which means that guys like Kevin Durant won’t have to look for other ways to stay occupied. Looks like nothing but clear skies ahead in the NBA forecast. Kevin Durant, the two-time NBA Scoring Title holder for two years and running, will defend his crown as the best bucket-maker in the league, but will he start off the season wearing the Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Weatherman’? Sneaker News gave you a look at this sick new ‘Weatherman’ last Friday – colorway that is inspired by Durant’s personal life. Had he not gone to the NBA, Durant would’ve pursued becoming a weatherman. That theme has transferred to the Nike Zoom KD IV, which features a multi-colored upper designed after a temperature map and elevation lines. The translucent outsole also reveals Kevin Durant’s foot-print, with the red ‘hot’ zones detailing the pressure points of his feet. Earlier today, we got our first look at the eagerly anticipated ‘Weatherman‘ edition of the Nike Zoom KD IV, and it didn’t take long for new pics to show up, giving us a much better look at the shoe than we could see from the grainy catalog shot. A few hours after the initial leak, Kevin Durant personally brought us all some clearer shots of the actual shoe, as well as a pic of him wearing the Weathermans along with a matching KD t-shirt. While you could get an idea of the colored weather pattern graphics from the earlier pics, now we really see the intricate details that continue on to cover the medial heel, the lining and tongue, and even beneath the clear outsole on the bottom of the shoe. Now that you’ve had a better view, let us know what you think and whether or not these do, in fact, give the Nerf a run for its money.
