Earlier last week, Sneaker News filled you in on the special packaging expected of the Year Of The Dragon collection, which includes the Air Jordan 2012, Nike Air Force 1, Nike Zoom Kobe VII, and Nike Zoom KD IV. Regarding the last of the bunch, the KD IV, we only got to show you the outer facade of the package, which was ornately decorated in China-specific imagery and a dope ’35′ logo done in traditional type-font – consistent with the design of the shoe. Here we have a look at the inner workings of the Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Year Of The Dragon’ packaging; the box features a fold-up lid hinged on one edge, and inside it is a special ‘Year Of The Dragon’ t-shirt sitting above the shoes. No solid release information of this special edition box has been confirmed, but history will suggest that it will be an Asia-exclusive. Check out the extra angles below and let us know what you think! via malambert.

Sneaker News just showed you the Nike Kobe VII System’s answer to the Air Jordan 2012 ‘Year of the Dragon’s extravagant special edition housing, and we’ve already seen the Air Force 1 Low YOTD’s ‘AF1-XXX’ box, so that leaves one more from Nike’s ‘Year of the Dragon’ pack and its packaging. The Nike Zoom KD IV comes through with a box that’s certainly upscale of the typical Kevin Durant signature release, yet not quite as immediately impressive as the AJ2012 and ZK7s. The construction looks to be something like the YOTD AF1s, but instead of a red-on-white grid, this one’s covered in the dragons colored in the Green Abyss and Current Blue combo that gives this pair its unique look. Check out more images after the jump and now that we’ve seen all four, let us know which of the Nike Chinese New Year 2012 boxes is best. via fatboykickz.

We’re still nearly three weeks away from the official holiday, but Wednesday is as close to Chinese New Year 2012 as we’ve gotten so far. It started early yesterday when we got our first look at the Nike/Jordan Brand Year of the Dragon collection, which served as a springboard for the official unveiling of both the Nike Kobe VII System Supreme and Air Jordan 2012 YOTD colorways into the evening. These two couldn’t look more different, and yet they both resonate with the vibe of a Water Dragon in their own way, just as the same is true of their counterparts in the pack, a new Zoom KD IV and Air Force 1 Low. Each of these is replete with dragon detailing, which starts with the notion that the mythical creature rises from four seas with New Year’s wishes, and you can get the lowdown on the entire set when you click on the jump below.

Last year the Nike Zoom Kobe VI was the model that showed just far the Swoosh design team could go as far as graphic detail on a basketball sneaker. For the current NBA season, you’d be hard pressed to find a sneaker that’s doing more graphics-wise than the Nike Zoom KD IV, which has already had a handful of drops that really push the limits of the upper design. The upcoming ‘Year of the Dragon’ release is no different, and these new images really show how far the reptilian treatment goes. Follow us after the jump for this detailed look and stick with us for word on a release date for Durant’s latest. via kenlu

Kevin Durant vanquished the struggling Dallas Mavericks with a buzzer-beating game winner on Thursday night that has the Oklahoma City Thunder leading the pack in the NBA with a 4-0 record in this young season. If you get a chance to bet against OKC running the table, put your life savings on it, but that doesn’t mean for one second that Durant and the Thunder don’t have some great things in store for their 2012. This very well could be the year that they ascend to the top of a shifting Western Conference, and Durant’s Nike Basketball signature series is at an all-time high with unavoidably eye-catching releases like the Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Dragon’. This tribute to the water dragon associated with the next spin of the Chinese Zodiac is a perfect match for the Thunder’s team colors while striped textures on the strap and tongue remind us how many graphical options are available to this one silhouette. Check them out in greater detail after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date. via RMK

Maybe ‘Year of the Dragon’ means ‘Year of the Scoring three-peat’ for Kevin Durant. KD hasn’t lost a step in his game thus far, dropping 30+ a game while leading the Thunder to a 3-0 record in the West, and he’s doing it while wearing one of the most trendy kicks at the moment – the Nike Zoom KD IV. If you missed out on the Weathermans, Nerfs, and Christmas joints, you still have the ‘Year Of The Dragon’ to look forward to (as well as the Easter and a ton of more great GR colorways). This close-up visual of the heel reveals the ancient dragon swirling its way around the KD logos on the heel – much like how KD eludes defenders on his way to an easy two. Best KD IV thus far? Let us know in the comments section below. via hk-kicks.
