Shaping up to be a sneaker that just can’t miss, the Nike Zoom KD IV has a pretty strong track record despite only having a handful of colorways to its name. With that being said, we’d be pretty surprised if the 2012 ‘Year of the Dragon’ didn’t fly off the shelves as quickly as its predecessors. Like the ‘Nerf’ and ‘Weatherman’ before it, this release goes heavy on the graphics-with a wavy look for the strap and lining as well as a little dragon hit floating around the swoosh on the medial side of the sneaker. Kevin Durant is soaring up the sneaker Power Rankings thanks to the sick special edition colorways of the Nike Zoom KD IV. We’re in the midst of a Zoom KD renaissance with the releases of the Weatherman, upcoming Nerf, and Christmas Day Metallic Bronze, but arriving in early 2012 is yet another high-energy rendition that’ll have your jaw dropped to the ground. Sneaker News already gave you detailed look at the Nike Zoom KD IV China/Year Of The Dragon, but here we have a look at the actual shoe; on the Adaptive Fit strap, tongue, and inner lining is a detailed dragon-skin graphic with traditional dragon detailing on the heel, with one dragon wrapping around the KD logo. The tongue features a Chinese-inspired ’35′ logo as well. According to the traditional Chinese Zodiac, 2012 will mark the Year of the Dragon. Hopefully we’ll get to see Kevin Durant’s inner dragon emerge this NBA season, but despite the 2011-12 Season still in shambles, Nike Basketball is pushing as strong as ever with its three signature Nike Basketball sneakers – one of which is Kevin Durant’s Nike Zoom KD IV. Here’s a look at a special edition ‘Year of the Dragon’ colorway; it features that familiar Blue/Orange colorway (ahem, Nike LeBron 9 ‘China’) with a unique graphic on the strap as well as the tongue, signifying the beautiful scales of the powerful dragon.
