In today’s ultra-concentrated news cycle, if you don’t hear about a model for more than a few weeks (days, even), it’s easy to be so bombarded by the ever-expanding array of new and upcoming releases that you might lose track of all but the very most significant releases. And especially when you compare the profile of its release to the Zoom Kobe V that preceeded it, one could certainly conclude by this point in history that sneakerheads are collectively sleeping on the Nike Zoom Kobe VI ‘Dark Knight’. Whereas the ZKV edition was an early House of Hoops-exclusive that helped to garner attention for that model in its early days, the Christopher Nolan’s Batman-inspired ZK6 comes nearly two years later during a time we couldn’t possibly see them on an NBA court. Add in that the Zoom Kobe VII is right around the corner, and we’ve got all the makings of a release people are going to be happy they remembered while others got left behind. Check these out in some additional images after the jump and pick them up before everyone else finds out they’re available right now on NikeStore.

3-D moviemaking rose to new heights in late 2009 and into ’10 on the wings of James Cameron’s Avitar, to the point where popping out at your face is one of Hollywood’s favorite ways to increase box office numbers. Will the same effect hold true for the Nike Zoom Kobe VI ‘Lakers 3-D’? If we judge by the sales from the first 3D Zoom Kobe VIs that released around the 2011 NBA All-Star in Los Angeles, the answer will be a resounding ‘yes’, and coupled with the thirst Kobe fans have built for a true Laker-colored ZK6, will make this one a must-have for many. Have a closer look by clicking on the jump below, let us know how these compare to the red/blue 3D joints and stick with Sneaker News for updates on these and all the remaining Zoom Kobe VI release dates. via SoleAwesome

Here’s what happens when you wait to drop a traditional colorway until the summer when a league’s collective bargaining agreement is set to lapse. Will we ever get the chance to see Kobe Bryant work his magic in this new Nike Zoom Kobe VI release? You’d have to expect that if the NBA keeps on infighting through the rest of the year, we’ll see the Zoom Kobe VII when the Black Mamba returns to Staples Center. But if cooler heads prevail over the fuzzy math, this would be the first ‘true’ Lakers colorway we will see Kobe kicking on court; will you take matters into your own hands and wear these for the coming cold weather indoor ball season? Have a closer look at the ‘Imperial Purple’ Zoom Kobe 6 by clicking on the jump below, then look for them at select Nike Basketball retailers like Eastbay.

It’s about time the Kobe VI released in a regular Lakers colorway. We’ve seen quite a diverse array of Nike Zoom Kobe VI releases since the Kobe VI first dropped in late December, but it took quite a while for a simple ‘Home’ Lakers version to become available. This upcoming release doesn’t feature 3-D effects or a funky PE/School logo on the window on the heel-cap – just your run of the mill Lakers variety that’ll go perfectly with your Showtime gear. Check out the new images of this Nike Zoom Kobe VI X colorway and let us know if you’re looking to pick these up. via Dunk.

It’s been an interesting month for Kobe Bryant thus far. He’s been hitting game-winners in summer league games, created some buzz regarding the possible reactivation of his Twitter account, and recently split his Playoffs bonus with two Los Angeles Lakers staffers whose contracts were not renewed during the offseason. Kobe’s got the game, the charisma, and the generosity to make him one of the greatest professional athletes to have ever walked the Earth, and Lower Merion High School is certainly proud to the bone for playing a part in producing such an individual. The Lower Merion Aces school colors have been a popular theme for the Nike Zoom Kobe line, and tomorrow, the Kobe VI edition will officially hit stores. Be sure to check your local Nike Basketball retailer for these, or cop a pair right now from limitedshoes on eBay.

Originally set to drop tomorrow at Nike Basketball retailers, the Nike Zoom Kobe VI ‘Lower Merion Aces’ will be pushed back for a Monday, 9/12 release. It isn’t very often that a prominent releases such as the Lower Merion Kobe VIs would occur on a Monday, but with the attention surrounding the Nike Mag 2011 release, this minor postponement makes some sense. Hopefully this minor snafu in scheduling doesn’t screw up your weekend plans to rock the Aces, but don’t fret because they’re officially dropping in just a few more days. According to Nikestore twitter, the Aces will also be available on Nikestore at midnight on the 12th as well. Can’t wait? Cop a pair now on eBay.

The Nike Vault located inside the Staples Center is a basketball pop-up shop with a serious emphasis on the Black Mamba. Staples is in fact Kobe’s personal snake-pit, and the Vault has been home to some great exclusive releases, like the Aston Martin Pack and the Kobe x Koston collaboration. To celebrate the 1-Year Anniversary of Nike Vault is this special colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI; it features a simple black upper with a regal gold on the swoosh and Kobe logo as well as on the speckling on the midsole – a bit like a Kobe VI take on the Kobe V ‘Big Stage’ Away. Check out the extra shot below and stick with Sneaker News for possible release information. via GZA73 on NT.
