In 2007, Nike Skateboarding introduced the multi-Dunk mosaic concept to the ‘What The Dunk’, which featured bits and pieces of the greatest Nike SB Dunk Low releases of all time. The What The Kobe? adopts the same idea, keeping the design limited to VII options, but clearly there was plenty to go around; Leopard, Dart Frog, Cheetah, Mamba – you name it, it’s on there. Could these rival the ‘What The Dunks’ as one of the wildest sneaker releases of all-time? These will hit select Nike retailers tomorrow so if you’re worried about missing out, secure a pair right now from tw-sneakersoul on eBay.

Makes total sense that Nike Vault, located inside Kobe Bryant’s castle known as the Staples Center, would get all the special Kobe-centric releases. For tomorrow (when the What the Kobe? officially releases), Nike Vault will release a limited-edition What the Kobe? Pack which features the shoes and a matching set of What the Kobe? socks with a sick Nike Vault x WTK logo on upper tube of socks. These will be given out on a first-come first-served basis so you’d better not slack on this releases because you’ll be muttering What the (another four-letter word) after these disappear quickly from stores shelves. Another view of the socks below, so take a look and let us know if this is the best Kobe release of the year!

This past weekend Sneaker News hit you with a cluster of important release dates – one of which was the multi-Kobe mash-up known as the ‘What The Kobe?’. If you missed out on the that, we’d like to reiterate the July 7th release date (two Saturdays from today), but with so much anticipation and energy surrounding this release, getting a pair on hand will prove to be rather difficult. On the level of Yeezy 2s or Galaxy Foam? Probably not, but don’t expect these to sit around for that long. If you’re ready to have ‘em on your feet now or at least would like to ensure your pair in your collection, you’re in luck: a few sizes have just become available from el_store on eBay.

The Nike Zoom Kobe VII “What the Kobe” is a sneaker that just keeps getting better and better as its release date approaches. The latest development upping the level of excitement for the wild design was the revelation of that crazy logo on the heel clip, a jailbreak at the zoo graphic pointing to all the differing models that lent bits of their design to this release. Oh and speaking of the release date we’ve pinned it down, and the Nike Zoom Kobe VII “What the Kobe” will be arriving at retailers on July 7th. Click through for some shots of the beastly sneakers and let us know if you’re prioritizing this Nike Zoom Kobe VII as a must have for the summer.

The 2012 NBA Season just came to a close last night, so now we’ll anticipate a slew of Summer-time Nike Basketball releases (that are actually more energetic than the ones that release during the course of the season). For the Zoom Kobe, that certainly is the case based on the ‘What The Kobe’, which combines not one, not two, but FIVE different concepts onto different areas of the shoe. Some will argue that the ‘Galaxy’ or the ‘Invisibility Cloak’ is the highlight of the Kobe VII library, but there might not be another Nike Basketball release this season (yes, Nike Basketball as a whole, not just Kobe VIIs) as chaotically wonderful as these. We’ll keep you updated with a U.S. release date once it develops, so check out these detailed images below and let us know if these are the best Kobes of the year! Photos: kicks-crew

If you need a visual descriptive of what exactly the ‘What The Kobe’ entails, just take a look at the heel logo that is expected to be on this upcoming limited release. It’s a mosaic of the green mamba snake, the great white shark, the leopard, the wolf, and the poison dart frog, all of which have had individual representation on the Kobe VII throughout the year. The Kobe VII ‘What The Kobe’ is the ultimate mash up of the Kobe VII concept rooted in the predatory spirit of these wildlife alphas, and it’s at this meeting point that the Zoom Kobe VII gets an energetic push from a signature shoe that, quite frankly, has been rather ordinary. We’ll keep you updated with more Kobe VII developments as they arrive, so check out the additional shots of the ‘What The Kobe’ heel logo and let us know what you think. Photos: air-knight

If you read our Nike Air Max ‘What The Max’ post carefully, you would’ve caught our hint at another ‘What The’ model of this unique pack. Well, here it is – the Nike Zoom Kobe VII; as you’ve witnessed thus far, the Kobe VII has demonstrated its unique capability of going HAM with colorways and patterns as we’ve seen quite a variety with the Christmas/Leopard, the Poison Dart Frogs, the Galaxy, and the Invisibility Cloaks, and this dope ‘What The Kobe’ follows the true ‘What The’ formula laid out by the SB Dunk by using those patterns all around the shoe. Just to start things off, you can see the Leopard upper on the left shoe and the Dart Frog no the right. These are featured on one of the covers of Sneaker Freaker 24 (if you’ve been keeping up with our previews as of late, the SF Issue 24 is looking like a must-have), so check out the full shot of the cover below and let us know what you think of this ‘What The’ attempt.
