You need only look back though a few of our Classics Revisited features to recognize how Nike has utilized Baroque Brown during several F/W seasons this century. It’s coming back around for Nike Skateboarding as we recently saw Stefan Janoski’s sigs take a turn, followed by a new Dunk Mid SB covered in the stuff to roughly the same degree as this new Nike Zoom Koston 1. The key difference here, other than the obvious silo shift, is that Challenge Red branding on these results in a more expressive yet appropriately autumnal look, and you’ll find more photos below before grabbing a pair from Flatspot.

The sequel was revealed earlier this week and suggest a biannual product cycle for Eric Koston’s Nike Skateboarding signature line, and in turn, several new colorways for the above pictured model. This new Nike Zoom Koston 1 comes in a Dark Obsidian and Metallic Gold mix, the likes of which we expect to see upon a new Dunk Mid SB later this season. This pair’s ‘extra’ white elements go a long way to creating a different finished look than those two-toned dunks, a balancing effect furthered by the relatively muted golden tone peeking out from the toe just as it does from the sockliner. A closer look is yours for the clicking below and then find the latest Eric Koston SBs at MIA.

When you watch the visual artistry of Olympic gymnasts, divers and synchronized swimmers, it’s hard not to get upset that skateboarding has somehow yet to join the Summer Game schedule. Snowboarding works for the winter Olympiad, so why can’t a guy like Eric Koston be judged similarly to Shawn White (or Shawn Johnson, for that matter)? Until the IOC gets its act together, the next best thing is this new Nike Eric Koston One in Anthracite with Buff Gold accents, an impressive near-blackout whose subtle depth makes them a surprising must have at retailers like Flatspot.

Eric Koston’s Nike Skateboarding signature sneaker is one of the cleanest pro models on the market, a design whose one-piece construction dictates relatively simple colorways. This latest design shows you what the Nike Koston One can do when all of its shades are from the same slice of the color wheel as Anthracite and black come together with Buff Gold accents on this smokey coalminer’s Koston 1. A solid no-nonsense colorway that represents the impending transition into colder weather and shorter days, you can click through to see the shades of grey and stick with Sneaker News for more Nike SB August 2012 releases.

Eric Koston was raised in San Bernadino, California, but it’s his Thai heritage that’s more often a source of inspiration for Koston’s Nikes. You can see just a bit of ‘Cali’ on this latest Nike Eric Koston 1, though, a Gorge Green suede design whose white, brown and red sole evokes images of July 2004 Dunk Low SB Quickstrike based on the California state flag. A roughly inverted distribution of colors might earn these an ‘Un-’ designation, but the results are decidedly positive and you’ll find pairs available now at Primitive.

We already gave you a decent look at the Dunks and the like set to arrive in Spring of 2013, and now we’re switching it up let you see what’s happening with some of the newer designs in the Nike SB repertoire once the calender rolls over. The all new Nike SB Highbred will of course be a part of things, taking up the lifestyle section in a preview that is otherwise mostly concerned with sigs as Janoski and Koston all get some shine. Also thrown in the mix is a model we’re seeing here for the first time the Nike SB Rabona, a low-top with a sort of Koston style construction. Click through with us to check out what was on display at the recent Bright Tradeshow as far as the future of Nike SB and let us know if you’ll be picking up any of these pending pairs for skating purposes. Back in 2004 when Diamond Supply Co. teamed up with Nike SB to create the iconic ‘Tiffany’ Dunk Low SB, Eric Koston was still with éS Footwear. Koston rode for Lakai for a few years and then transitioned to Nike SB in ’09, right around the time Swoosh skateboarding started to more openly ‘port’ over classic Dunk colorways for its other models. The Nike Koston 1 has mostly skipped the copycat look to this point, but there’s no question that the black/mint combo pictured above is going to get that ‘Tiffany’ tag from anyone familiar with the original. This spring 2013 release can be seen in more detail after the jump, so click through, let us know what you think and stick with Sneaker News for updates. via N-SB
