Nike SB wasn’t around for the skateboarding explosion that accompanied the ‘alternative’ 1990s, so it’s somewhat understandable if Beaverton’s action sports divisions have the urge to experiment with new ways of presenting themselves to the world. ’SB’ branding or not, Eric Koston’s first Swoosh signature gave the skate world its first taste of LunarLon, and the Nike Eric Koston One‘s natural talent with two-toned colorways manifests itself again in a Baroque Brown and Team Red combo that’s coming up for a future release. Nike SB is in the middle of a transition. So much so, that retailers that carry their sneakers are now receiving shipments of familiar silhouettes that’ve been stripped of their ‘SB’ branding. This month’s Nike SB Zoom Eric Koston in white/gum and Stefan Janoski signatures in both heights signal wider distribution to come while Zoom Bruin and Dunk Mid both in white and soft neutrals still come with the same tags we’ve come to expect. Click through to see each one detailed individually and let us know which you’re looking to cop from Nike SB stockists like DQM.

Eric Koston’s Nike SB signature sneaker just arrived at retailers last month with a white upper and gum bottom, so while simply swapping to black would make for an equally satisfying design, the Swoosh would rather provide a bit more variety. So instead of this just coming off as the yang to that pair’s yin, this new Nike Zoom Koston 1 subtracts the ‘SB’ branding but adds details like a granite finish Swoosh and speckled outsole toe for a finished product that’s as close to ‘black cement’ as you can get without including Elephant print. Check them out in greater detail below, then find yours through select retailers like Premier.

Anything bearing the name of super-skater Eric Koston should be firmly rooted in the Nike SB realm right? Well not exactly, as a handful of sigs are being pulled up from that sub-categorization and wiped of their SB branding, this particular model being one of them. Not that the Nike Zoom Koston 1 needs any fancy logo hits to make it stand out, as in this case a beautifully pure white upper and a classic gum sole do the trick just fine. Click through for the full angles and let us know in the comments how you feel about the reorganizing of the Nike SB range, also make sure to hit up the team at Premier to grab this Nike Zoom Eric Koston now.
