The team Darrelle Revis for which recently expressed interest in playing has five Super Bowl rings. Only one team has more Lombardi Trophies than the San Francisco 49ers, and it just happens to be Revis’ hometown Pittsburgh Steelers alone at the top with six. Here’s another look at the ‘Steelers’ Nike Zoom Revis, which features the Steel City logo on the medial ankles and a subtle ’33′ embossing at the toe. This last detail probably doesn’t connect with active running back Issac Redman; perhaps longtime ESPN analyst Merril Hoge is a better fit. These have also been linked to legendary LB Jack Lambert whose inspirational words line the inside of the strap, but the Hall of Famer wore 58. Stick with Sneaker News for more details on this reminder of Revis’ roots, including release info.

Okay, did some sort of trade go down that we didn’t know about? Cool your jets, NY fans, this Nike Zoom Revis is just a tribute colorway to Darrelle’s hometown of Pittsburgh, PA and not any indication that Revis is on his way out. We’ve already seen this shoe feature an official team franchise logo in that Portland Blazers PE, and although an NFL team does make more sense on this shoe, it’s a bit strange to see an AFC rival don the upper, isn’t it? We’ve got a full shot below so give it a look and stay tuned for more on the Revis newswire.

The ties to NYC have been rather strong with the Nike Zoom Revis, with the the launch colorway of the ‘Jets’ being a rather popular pick toward the end of the 2012 (and the representative for the shoe in our Top 30 list). The NYC vibes continue on as we get another look at an attractive Varsity Red/Black colorway that’s been dubbed the ‘Big Apple’. We first showed you these a week ago in a clean photo taken in Times Square by the famous red stairs above the TKTS booth, but the arms have reached around the nation as the Nike Zoom Revis ‘Big Apple’ is indeed hitting other spots. Keep in mind that these already dropped at Nikestore, so check out the photos below and cop them right now from Oneness.

When will the Nike Zoom Revis hit Nike iD? Sneakerheads would certainly welcome that option considering the Revis is a rather pliable shoe in terms of colorway creativity, but we’ll have to settle for the sick retail varieties and the yet-to-be-released “PE” selections like this clean Royal Blue/White colorway seen on-feet here. Considering the Revis is a Training shoe at first, we can certainly expect more team-based colorways to be churned out for the next few months, but a Nike Zoom Revis iD is something that many folks would be on board with. Check out another angle below and stay tuned for more Revis updates.

It’s not often we see an actual NBA franchise logo make its way on a Nike shoe, although Reebok showed us how it’s “done” with those funky all-over-print tennis shoes that featured all thirty NBA logos on the upper. That’s why the Nike Zoom Revis “Trailblazers” was such a surprise, because usually PEs are limited to special emblems like the Oregon and Texas bits on the inner heels of the shoe. This PE was allegedly made with Portland’s LaMarcus Aldridge in mind, with the Texas call-out being a tribute of his hometown. A release hasn’t been confirmed, but it appears that a few stray pairs are starting to pop up – like this size 11.5 from fobxguru on eBay.

Although the Nike Zoom Revis has been incredibly popular across the nation, there’s no doubt that the shoe has a New York state of mind. It wouldn’t be long before the Revis took form of another sports team in the NYC area, with this sick duet of colorways dubbed the “Knicks vs Nets” embodying the newfound rivalry between the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets; each pair is inspired by each of the two teams, and with the Knicks and Nets placed right next to one another in the most recent Eastern Conference standings, there’s no doubt that the debate between these two shoes is going to go down to the wire. Another shot of the Knicks version is just below so take a look and stay tuned to Sneaker News for potential release info.
