While LeBron James is long gone from the great state of Ohio at this point, he’s managed to keep plenty of connections flowing to the spots that raised him back home. One of those would be St. Vincent – St. Mary High School, the private school where he honed his skills pre-NBA. It turns out the Nike Zoom Soldier 6 pictured is a bit more specific in its theme than previously reported, the digital camo sections alluding to that university’s upcoming Carrier Classic basketball event. Said event will pit the men’s team of Ohio State University against that of Marquette, with the women’s team playing against Notre Dame. The latest Dunkman colorway on LeBron James’ Nike Basketball flagship is all-green for the first time ever, which means this new alternative happens to look a bit more like what we expected. The Nike Zoom Solider VI leans toward that annual superhero look with a black and silver base sandwiched between a vibrant green shade on the sockliner and outsole. The Nike LeBron spread its wings to the NCAA ranks with three outstanding college-specific colorways of Kentucky, Miami, and Ohio State in the form of the LeBron 9. While there hasn’t been any sort of confirmation regarding a similar LeBron X collection, we can expect the Zoom Soldier 6 to be in heavy rotation – especially with this sick Red/Grey ‘camo’ colorway made for the Ohio State Buckeyes. It features a red upper with camouflage print detailing on the strap, inner lining, and on the footbed seen through the translucent outsole. With LeBron James rocking the Lunar Hyperdunk+ while playing for Team USA and his tenth Nike Basketball signature right around the corner, the secondary line that once outfitted King James’ postseason efforts has been conspicuously quiet. LeBron wore the ‘United We Rise’ PE Soldier IIs during the 2008 Beijing Games, but it seems unlikely we’ll see him don the Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier 6 this time around in London. So instead of the USA colorup we’d seen in several previews, this first pair to arrive stateside is the basketball standby black and red. This colorway has got to sting for some LeBron and Miami Heat fans, right? This Silver/Black/Royal colorway of the enticing LeBron Soldier 6 has that strong Dallas Mavericks vibe to ‘em (if anyone remembers those horrific shiny-silver alternate uniforms that were quickly shelved, raise your hands), and if you can remember – or choose to remember, Dallas beat Miami in 2011 NBA Finals. Unfortunately, a Finals rematch isn’t the books as Dallas was trounced in Round 1, but regardless, the Soldier 6 continues to be a big surprise and as we get yet another detailed look at this upcoming colorway.
