If it seems like the Nike Zoom Vapor Tour 9 is Roger Federer’s most visible signature shoe to date, that’s because we’ve known about it for nearly two years now. The Tinker Hatfield-designed Vapor 9 Tour has been on center stage (or Centre Court, as the case may be) since debuting for last year’s Australian Open, and looks just like its signature star: no end to the greatness in sight. This new Midnight Navy and Poison Green edition doesn’t go quite all-white as RF has suggested he may try for a whole year, but does indeed capture a certain traditionalism along with the vibrant slime accents. Have a closer look after the jump, stick with Sneaker News for the French Open kits in a little over a month, and grab this latest Vapor Tour 9 colorway from Eastbay.

Earlier this month, Sneaker News reported the arrival of a new colorway of Roger Federer’s Nike Zoom Vapor Tour 9 that had just become available for retail. That Anthracite/Polarized Pink colorway also serves as a PE for R-Fed for the Australian Open, designated as the official nighttime shoe for the tennis legend to wear during his matches. You’ll note that this athlete-exclusive version has his RF logo on the tongue as well as the outrigger of the shoe! We’ve got a gallery of the PE as well as the the man himself in action just below, so take a look and stay tuned for more updates on what we called one of the Top 30 of 2012.

The Nike Zoom Vapor Tour 9 is managing a pretty strong following thanks to the NIKE iD treatment that’s available. Roger Federer himself apparently whipped up a couple new colorways via that customizable process in preparation for an upcoming Grand Slam bid out in Melbourne. Pictured here are four Nike iD styles that are on the block as a possible wear for RF, and he apparently wants the fans to select which one will hit the court in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to get a look at all four Nike Zoom Vapor Tour 9 iD creations after the jump and vote on your favorite now via Nike Tennis.

Tennis is a game heavily dependent upon lateral movement, but Nike Tennis is definitely on to something with this whole front/back thing. The Nike Zoom Vapor 9 Tour has taken it up a notch with a flurry of recent activity, including now three new colorways that depend upon some variation of this subtly blocked template pictured above. These could have been even crazier with a splatter, gradient or some other effect, so while they’ll still stand out on most tennis courts, the sneakerhead Vapor Tour 9 admirer will appreciate the restraint. It’s also especially dope how the darker green shade blends in through the midsole and adds a little oomph, so click through to see more details and let us know if the Zoom Vapor 9 Tour deserves serious consideration as the best modern tennis sneaker.

Fresh off debuting the new Russian Blue shade on a pair that’d pique the interest of male and female tennis players alike, another fresh Nike Zoom Vapor 9 Tour arrives with a more overtly feminine appeal. But then again, with the distribution of colors heavily favoring the Anthracite/black base and Polarized Pink having done so well on the Foamposite One, it’s easy to see why these were crafted in mens sizes. Let us know if you can see yourself serving one up in the latest Zoom Vapor Tour 9; if so, they’re yours for the taking from NikeStore.

Nike debuts another new color for 2013 on an unlikely model choice. But with the Nike Zoom Vapor 9 Tour arguably the most popular post-Agassi Nike Tennis design, it makes sense to see a shade like Russian Blue make its first appearance. Tinker Hatfield’s exoskeletal build is subdued in this tonal build, eschewing gradients, splatters or any form of graphical intensity in favor of the simple contrast between light forefoot and dark heel. Stick with Sneaker News for US release info and let us know if this is the best Vapor Tour 9 colorway to date.
