Paul Pierce’s is one of the more unique signature lines in sneaker history, in that it has only been available in kids sizes.  Pierce’s Air Legacy series began the season after his second straight NBA Finals appearance with the Boston Celtics and continued with two sequels extending through 2011-12.  The Nike Air Legacy 3 he wore that year is now rendered in Brooklyn Nets colors, though the bigger change is probably the move to Hyperfuse that has these in the neighborhood of the popular Zoom KD IV (also a 11-12 signature).  Let us know what you think after you’ve seen more below; should the Air Legacy 3 Fuse get a full size run?

Now, Nike’s signature and marquee athletes prepare to go for the Larry O’Brien gold as LeBron James of the Miami Heat, Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers, Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Paul Pierce of the Boston Celtics navigate their respective teams – and right now it looks like these stars are headed for a crash collision. Did Paul Pierce even know that he would dominate the age 6-13 demographic? According to teammate Kevin Garnett, ‘Anything is possible’. The Nike Air Legacy series, Paul Pierce’s signature shoe, has been exclusive to kids sizes for as long as we can remember. Why such an exclusivity exists is confusing, but it’s clear that Pierce, while one of the best small forwards of our generations, doesn’t have that range of marketability that Nike’s current Big Three have. So, technically, Pierce is one of four Nike Basketball athletes with his own signature shoe line – just ask your kid brother about ‘em. The all-new Air Legacy 3 in the ‘Away’ Celtics colorway just hit stores, so grab them at overseas retailer Afew, or on our side at Nikestore.
