Jay-Z came home to Brooklyn over the weekend, christening the Barclays Center with his first few concerts out of the eight total in the lineup. Of course the celebrity set was in the house, with Brooklyn’s own Carmelo Anthony no doubt stealing the show sneaker wise, popping up backstage in a pair of the upcoming ‘Motorboat Jones’ Air Jordan IX. Victor Cruz broke out some Air Jordan VI’s, J. Cole did his thing in Dunks, Pharrell showed up with those crazy custom boots, and Mr. Murda INC. Irv Gotti even made it out with a classic Air Jordan selection. Pharrell Williams attended and performed at the Cannes Film Festival this past weekend at the Red Granite Pictures party. Pharrell posted up on stage with his MacBook Pro and some lovely ladies while playing some new songs, all in a pair of crispy Air Jordan VII ‘Bordeaux’s’. It seems that Skateboard P may have traded his ‘South Beach’ LeBron 8′s for some Air Jordan’s as of late, as he’s been seen in nothing but Jordan’s over the past couple of months, including the last time he showed up here on a Sneaker News Celebrity Feet feature, which featured his Toro Bravo 3M Jordan V’s. Pharrell Williams has definitely been stepping up his Jordan game lately as he’s been spotted wearing various colors of the Air Jordan III in the past few months, and just last night he was seen with a pair of the Air Jordan V ’3M’ sneakers on that were a part of the Toro Bravo (Raging Bull) Pack of 2009. Skateboard P got a decent wear out of these two year old Jordans (that darn creasing is inevitable) as he attended both the premiere of the Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels Of A Tribe Called Quest at the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival and the Vanity Fair After Party that followed. While on tour in Dubai, N.E.R.D’s frontman Pharrell Williams broke out his Nike LeBron 8 ‘South Beach’ sneakers once again. The last time we saw Skateboard P in these LeBron’s was last month in Indonesia but it seems that Pharrell has taken a strong liking to these Pre Heat LeBron 8′s that some would argue was the best sneaker of 2010. Joining Pharrell, Shae, and Chad on stage was up and coming artist Mike Posner who recently released a remix of his new single, “Bow Chicka Bow Wow”, with Lil Wayne, Posner showed up wearing a pair of the ‘Cool Grey’ Air Jordan XI’s that were released at the end of last year. Some of our favorite artists are bringing some of the hottest sneakers out while on tour, yesterday we showed you Drake wearing a pair of the ‘Orion Blue’ Air Jordan VII Retro’s during his performance in Manchester, England and today you can take a look at Pharrell rocking his Nike LeBron 8 ‘South Beach’ sneakers while performing in Jakarta, Indonesia. While we typically see Skateboard P wearing skate shoes or Ice Cream sneakers this is the first time we’ve seen the front man for N.E.R.D wearing a pair of Nike Basketball sneakers but it shouldn’t be surprising it was this ‘South Beach’ inspired pair of LeBron 8′s as Pharrell’s home when he’s not touring is coincidentally, Miami. There’s a ton of celebrity sneakerheads out there but Pharrell’s one of the very few in the hip-hop scene that has embraced the Nike Sportswear designs and motifs. Last summer he wore the Black/Mint Nike Air Footscape Woven - a perfect summer shoe, and in a recent stop in his Europe tour, he wore the Obsidian/Multi-color colorway of the Nike Lunar Woven Chukka – another great shoe to keep your peds supremely cool. Does the shoe ring a bell? Recently SneakerNews.com and FreshnessMag.com founder Yu-Ming Wu gave Complex.com his personal Top 10 list of shoes that released in 2010 so far. His number one overall shoe? The Nike Lunar Woven Chukka in the same colorway. Great minds rock alike, don’t they? On another note, fellow N.E.R.D. member Shay wore the retro-inspired Nike MS78. On Wednesday night N.E.R.D., the trio known for its infusion of rock, funk, and hip-hop, performed at the The Fillmore @ Irving Plaza in New York City. Pharrell, Chad, and Shay – friends since adolescence – rocked the house without question, but we’re interested in their feet! Shay showed off a pair of the Air Jordan Spiz’ike ‘Grapes’ while Pharrell gave us a sneak peek at an upcoming Ice Cream shoe from his BBC clothing label.
