It looks like PONY Footwear will continue their tradition of classic looks with their Spring/Summer 2014 Collection. The collection consists of the addition of 3 new model lines (canvas Topstars, nylon M-100’s, and nylon City Wings) and PONY has also chosen to bring back the Slam Dunk and the City Wings Ox. Given the use of bright pinks, yellows, oranges, and reds throughout the collection, it is clear that PONY is not scared to throw some loud colors on their classic models. Are you feeling this collection? Let us know, tell us your favorites and find them now at PONY retailers and the PONY online store.

You might not even think of it as intellectual property when you use it as a txt emoticon, but The Smiley Company behind that ubiquitous happy yellow face is one of the top licensed global brands.  With $162MM/year in revenues and a shop in London, it was a matter of time before the symbol showed up in a sneaker collaboration.  The Smiley x Pony M-100 pack gives us a couple of hightops with the happy face on their tongues, black or white colorways with sunshine yellow hits on the top eyelets and ventilation ports.  Look for these at select retailers later this month and let us know if you’re optimistic about buying a pair.

Pony just dropped its (Re)Launch Collection with the intention of re-familiarizing the sneakerhead community with some of its classic basketball shoes.  Here we have the Pony City Wings in a classic Chicago Bulls colorway, a pair whose height and red/black/white palette can be seen as an inversion on the Spud Webb edition from his 1986 NBA Slam Dunk Contest victory.  The M-100 has a slightly more modern look with the grey/black upper and particularly the layout, so check out both of these old school hoop shoes in more detail below, then find yours available at top retailers like Wish.

Including at the media-only event were retro pairs like the Pony Top Star, Pony M100, and the Pony City Wings. Continue reading to see a full set of images from the event, also featuring appearances by big wigs like company president Joseph Warren and founder Roberto Muller, and watch for the styles to pop up in stores starting August 1st.

“In the 1600s, they used the word ‘knickerbocker’, which is a Dutch word for shorts.”

Serious New York Knicks fans already know that their team’s curious name was inspired by the same Dutch pants that appear on the Big Apple’s flag. That’s where the team and MLB’s Mets took their color scheme as well, and it also influences this New Amsterdam tribute from one of Holland’s sneaker leaders. The Acht x Pony M-100 mixes denim and leather in those classic NYC colors, applying a co-branded tricolor to the box top that brings the concept together nicely. Check out some video from Acht after the jump along with photos of their M-100 basketball classics, and grab a pair today from Shelta.
