Given the endless range of collaborative releases we’ve seen from UNDFTD this year on the Puma Clyde, you’d think there wasn’t much left to do. Nylon, dotted uppers, and rich suede treatments have all popped up but here’s a set that actually takes a step back design-wise, removing perhaps the most recognizable aspect of this sneaker. The UNDFTD x Puma Clyde Stripe Off pack is pretty much exactly what it sounds like, with the three silhouettes getting stripped down to the bare essentials for a minimalist look. Each of the three shown here will hit UNDFTD chapter stores this Friday, December 9th, and will be available at their online spot as well. Full pics after the jump.

UNDFTD has killed 2011 with a variety of novel renditions on the classic Puma Clyde, their latest a pack that has already hit retail only to see another pair join the fray and have us wondering how deep the rabbit hole really goes with these microdots. The UNDFTD x Puma Clyde ‘Microdot’ is back in a red-accented, grey-dotted blue suede edition that’s less Christmasy like the snow-dotted others and much more in the vein of the Dodgers and Clippers that share Undefeated’s home base. Check them out in greater detail after the jump and let us know if these are worth a trip to your local sneaker boutique. via Kasina

The Puma Clyde has enjoyed quite the resurgence in 2011, a comeback we should’ve seen coming after Sneaker Freaker commemorated the start of this classic lowtop’s fifth decade of service with a special edition book right around New Years. After this came a series of collaborations with Undefeated and most recently a two-pack designed by Tokyo-based sneaker specialists, atmos. The Japanese store is back at it again, this time taking a cue from UNDFTD’s ‘Stripe-Off’ pack for a new atmos x Puma Clyde LPD whose side panel Formstripes remain in tact, but who’ve had their signature gold foil branding removed. That draws more attention to the Leopard print uppers, but a black leather overlay will remind you that these are indeed crafted by a German cat. Click through to see more angles and expect these in stock at atmos come mid-November.

Weather across the country has been cooperative with those looking to extend summer a few extra weeks but with October over half over, you know the cold grey slop of winter is right arond the corner. With that in mind, we can expect a variety of sneaker designs aimed at keeping you looking and feeling warm, and what better material to convey that cozy feeling than a pure wool? The atmos x Puma Clyde‘Survival Pack’ brings together two of the German Cat’s iconic lowtops with a woolen and leather combo whose side panel striping suggests a macro plaid pattern. Both red and black pairs are slated to release on Friday, October 21st; are they appealing enough to import or pay extra from a reseller?

The Puma Clyde and UNDFTD can both described as “the first to do it” in their respective categories. The Puma Clyde, as we know, is the first ever signature basketball shoe, while UNDFTD, with co-founder Eddie Cruz at the helm, was the first sneaker boutique in the West Coast. Releasing this October 7th, is yet another collection of the Puma Clyde, re-imagined in tonal suede upper with rubber toecaps and midsoles. Dubbed the ‘Coverblock’, this latest selection includes red, green, a cadet blue, and jet black as the available options of choice, so check out a detailed gallery below and cop these at UNDFTD retailers this Friday.

The Puma Clyde came to us via UNDFTD in a series of canvas colorways earlier this year and the model is most frequently seen with suede uppers, but for the rest of 2011, it looks like the German Cat will be focusing on Walt ‘Clyde’ Frasier’s signature model with leather bodies. The Puma Clyde Lux Pack joins the leather drops we just showed you as among the ‘classier’ pairs we can remember seeing, red, navy and brown pairs all going for tonal stitching and embossed branding to keep things simple. Click through to see more angles of these, let us know how they compare to the more colorful drops we’ve seen over the years and stick with Sneaker News for the US release dates. via HS

To the casual buyer, Puma Clyde and Suede lowtops are practically the same shoe. But to a true fan of the German Cat, these two are as different as two different years’ Air Max runners or Air Jordan Legacy releases. These three new Clydes clear up any confusion by casting their uppers in buttery smooth leather instead of the nappy material that often covers the silhouette, each opting for a simple colorway befitting the model’s classic status. Click through to see black/white, white/green and white/navy colorways and pick up one or all three today from Premier.
