Puma shows off a range of classic styles in new colorways at their Bright Tradeshow installation.  A set of Puma Steppers offer a suede welcome in four vibrant shades, and from there we get just the slightest glimpse of the Easy Rider (under ’1982′) and one marked for ’84 that’s hard to make out but could possibly represent the long-awaited return of the Pacific.  Elsewhere, there’s no need to speculate that new Trinomic Trail and Disc Lite colorups will satisfy classic running fans, while the Slipstream brings a bit of old school basketball hightop goodness to round out the set.  Stick with Sneaker News for updates and let us know which is the best design from this collection.

A collaboration eighteen months in the making, Puma teamed up Ronnie Fieg for a truly distinct design like no other for the legendary Disc Blaze. Fieg and the Puma crew went beyond colors swatches and materials and altered the shoe’s original construction, opting for a standard toe-box instead of the asymmetrical construction on the original and adding a strip of leather foxing to the upper quarter panel. Additional details include the reflective Puma logo and tongue stripe and the store’s ‘Just Us’ slogan on the heel of the left shoe. The Ronnie Fieg x Puma Disc Blaze OG “Cove’ is confirmed for a release date on 11/23, the busy Black Friday shopping day. The shoes will go on sale at 11 AM both in-store at Kith NYC and on the KITH online shop in limited numbers, with sizes 4-12 US available.

Ronnie Fieg x Puma Disc Blaze OG “Cove”

Might we be lucky enough to squeeze in another Ronnie Fieg classic running collabos before the end of 2012?  Signs are pointing to yes, with the ‘Salmon Toe’ New Balance 1300 and ‘Total Eclipse’ Asics Gel Lyte IIIs previewed as ‘upcoming sneaker collaborations’ alongside the Ronnie Fieg x Puma Disc Blaze ‘Cove’ have already come and gone.  And with Fieg’s subtly revised take on Puma’s most recognizable ’90s design showing up for the second time this week, we can’t help but wonder if release info is right around the corner.  The biggest new development today sees Kith’s ‘Just Us’ tagline applied to the rear midsole section that typically boasts of this model’s Trinomic cushioning platform.  It’s a flowing script we’ve seen before on Kith clothes and packaging, but how do you feel about its prominent placement on this upcoming release?  Let us know after you’ve seen more of the second Ronnie Fieg ‘Coves’ after the jump, and look for them to drop this Black Friday, November 23rd.

Ronnie Fieg x Puma Disc Blaze “Cove” – Sketch Preview

ronnie fieg x puma disc blaze cove sketch preview 1 Ronnie Fieg x Puma Disc Blaze Cove Sketch Preview

Fresh off his ‘Total Eclipse’ Gel Lyte III release last week(end), Ronnie Fieg posted a few sketches detailing his upcoming collaboration with Puma.  The photos revealed an emphasis on clean lines, as RF made a few subtle changes to the classic Disc Blaze runner (most notably the cleaner, more traditional toe construction).  Today we see sketches of an upcoming colorway, but regular Sneaker News readers might find this a bit peculiar given the Ronnie Fieg x Puma Disc Blaze ‘Cove’ was already spotted in the wild about six weeks ago.  Fieg’s followup on the lovely 2010 GL3s borrows an official Asics color name to describe its ocean blue suede sections, while the earlier images remind us the Disc fastener is black instead of the charcoal-ish look in these hand renderings.  Let us know what you think about Mr. Kith expanding his collaborative horizons and stick with Sneaker News for the ‘Cove’ Disc Blaze release date.

Hussein Chalayan x Puma Disc Blaze

Hussein Chalayan’s output for Puma has been typified by ultra-sleek lifestyle designs with the occasional sculpted neck-breaker thrown in for good measure.  He’s avoided working with most of the German Cat’s popular silhouettes in favor of entirely new designs with the exception of that superb un-branded R698 Jogger from 2010, but here’s proof that he might want to reconsider that route.  The Hussein Chalayan x Puma Disc Blaze showed up at Project with a couple of heavily-ventilated designs featuring reworked Disc enclosures with the designer’s signature on the lateral side.  They’ve got a heat/pressure weld look that’s in line with some of the other adventurous Disc Blaze LTWT colorups on tap for next year; how do these compare to those earlier previews?

Beams x Puma Disc LTWT – New Images

The Puma Disc Blaze remains ahead of its time nearly two decades after the initial release and the German Cat has positioned its Faas series as the future of running, so what better way to celebrate a collaborator’s anniversary than to combine two of the most significant Puma runners as one?  The Beams x Puma Disc LTWT is basically a Faas 500 plus the Disc Blaze’s trademark enclosure system, resulting in a lightweight and eyecatching design that sports the contributor’s logo no its tongue pulls.  Simple tonal black and white/black colorways belie all the technical advantages at play here but you’ll definitely pull a double take once you realize what you’re seeing; could these be one of 2011′s top sleeper hits?  Click through to see more angles and let us know if these are worth importing.  via EK
