Just as is the case with any good conspiracy, the members behind Puma’s Shadow Society have managed to remain anonymous to this day, though they’re certainly attracting a bunch of attention with releases as dope as these. The Shadow Society is back with its third pack of Suede lowtops, renamed the Puma States to reflect their colloquial name in the UK and for this rendition, dipped in monochromatic suede whose leather sockliner adds a Gore-Tex waterproof layer in between. Expect red and blue pairs of the ‘Outdoor’ States atop gum soles with extra laces at select Puma retailers on December 2nd. via SM

To suggest that the Nike Air Force 1 is to New York as the Puma Suede is to London is no great stretch, each city even offering a nickname for these classic basketball kicks turned casual standards. The AF1s are often called ‘Uptowns’, though the various Bronx editions are the closest we’ve gotten to that as an official name, but this new release from the Puma Shadow Society goes all the way and prints the British-born nickname on its side panels. The Puma Suede lowtop looks just as good in black and fuchsia as the previous two-toned editions and are similarly accompanied by an ominous pyramid-eye lacebag to further the whole ‘hidden’ vibe of this collection. Almost as much as collaborative designs have taken over the sneaker scene in the past few years, there’s been a growing hum of internet comments attributing certain celebrities” successes to their affiliation with the Illuminati. This chatter amounts to little more than another meme in the broad scheme of things, but if you were ever looking for evidence of a conspiracy in the sneaker world, this is probably as close as you’re going to get. The Puma Shadow Society even uses a pyramid eye logo on the lacebags that accompany these lush pairs of Puma Suede lowtops, teal and beige editions set to hit select retailers this Friday, August 26th. This anonymous group of collaborators also renamed this release the Puma State in honor of the model’s nickname in the UK, and you can see this name printed on their sides among other details when you click on the jump below.
