Rajon Rondo in Air Jordan VII “Olympic”

The associations between Rajon Rondo and the Nike Basketball Hyperfuse series are as strong as Rorschach and ink blots, but just like pretty much every guy in the NBA right now, Rondo grew up idolizing Michael Jordan.  One of the players who helped to promote NBA2K11 by reliving some of MJ’s greatest moments continued to reimagine history over in the Philippines, where Rondo rocked the ‘Olympic’ Air Jordan VII Retro (and matching Dream Team ’92 shorts) during a stop on the Red Bull King of Rock Tour.  Now that Ray Allen has departed Beantown, might pro basketball’s richest legacy need a new Jumpman on board?  Stick with Sneaker News to see what Rondo and the rest of the NBA and NCAA’s elite talents rock this season and check out Rajon sporting a different kind of ’9′ after the jump below.

Out East, Rajon Rondo’s 44 points and Ray Allen’s game-tying three-pointer put Boston on the verge of tying the series at one game a piece, but Miami pulled it out and the end and head to Boston tonight with a comfortable 2-0 lead. Out West, the Thunder defended their Home Court while handing the Spurs its first lost after going undefeated for 20 straight games. How will the Playoffs continue to unfold this Weekend? 2012 nba all star game NBA Feet: 2012 NBA All Star Game

The 2012 NBA All-Stars were ready for lift-off in Orlando as they left the crowd in a daze with spectacular dunks, unthinkable passes, and of course, a series of sneakers that left us startled and thoroughly impressed. Sneaker News has been keeping you up to date with all the 2012 All-Star kicks by showing you the official All-Star team photos and portraits and a preview of the ‘Galaxy’ PE’s, but there’s nothing better than to see them in action. Starting with the East, LeBron James showed off his radiant orange LeBron 9s, while teammate Dwyane Wade went with the Air Jordan 2012 with the royal blue bootie (switching to the Fly Wade 2 for the second half). Carmelo Anthony wore his All-Star PE of the Melo M8, while East starters and adidas Basketball pillars Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard showed off their neon orange PEs. Andre Iguodala’s Nike Zoom Hyperenforcer PE got a lot of attention (especially with his lefty windmill in the first half), and Rajon Rondo recorded the second All-Star on-feet moment of the Galaxy Foams. Both Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard switched up their PEs, going with the hot orange in the first half and changing up in the second to different Royal and Grey PEs.

Out West, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant provided waves of scoring while rocking their Nike Basketball signatures. Clippers star Chris Paul hooked up with teammate Blake Griffin on several occasions, flashing the CP3.V and Hyperdunk 2011 ‘Galaxy’ in the process. Russell Westbrook dunked his way into the spotlight with his golden ‘Galaxy’ PE of the Zoom Hyperenforcer, while Tony Parker and Steve Nash dished and swished with the Zoom Brave V and Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Low. Kevin Love, the 3-point champion, brought Peak to the ASG with his 361-degrees PE. The game itself was filled with spectacular moments; the East came back from a huge deficit to take the game down to the last shot, while teammate Dwyane Wade recorded the third triple-double in All-Star Game history. Kobe Bryant got his nose bloodied for a short moment while becoming the highest-scoring All-Star in history, while Kevin Durant bloodied the entire East squad by pouring in 36 points and taking home the All-Star Game MVP award. All in all, the 2012 NBA All-Star Game was one of the best we’ve ever seen; great high-scoring action, exciting weekend events, pre-game and half-time performances, and of course, one of the best sneaker spreads ever to make it to an All-Star Game floor. Check out the entire 2012 NBA All-Star Game recap after the jump and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for more NBA Feet features as the 2012 NBA season approaches the second half. via ESPN/Yahoo

While Kevin Durant won the MVP award for the 2012 NBA All-Star Game, the sneaker equivalent of that award goes to Boston Celtics guard and Eastern Conference All-Star reserve Rajon Rondo, who took the Amway Arena court sporting the Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Galaxy’. We showed you Rondo rockin’ the Galaxy Foams just a few hours ago as part of our All-Star Team photos and portraits, but these in-game shots are definitely worth an individual look considering the infamous reputation these have garnered since the “release” this past Thursday, and the likelihood that we will never see these on an NBA court. More of Rondo and his Galaxy Foams are ahead, so take a look and stay tuned for a full recap of the 2012 All-Star Game. via Yahoo!

NBA Lockout Feet: Rajon Rondo’s Boston Charity Classic

rajon rondo boston charity classic 12 NBA Lockout Feet: Rajon Rondos Boston Charity Classic

Rajon Rondo hosted a special charity basketball exhibition game at Harvard University this past Saturday, bringing together a number of Boston Celtics players that were members of the 2008 Championship team. Rondo was joined by teammates Paul Pierce, Marquis Daniels, and Jeff Green as well as former Celtics Nate Robinson, Kendrick Perkins, and Leon Powe. During the Charity Game, a few notable sneakers were spotted on court, like Nate Robinson’s Black/Cement III, Rajon Rondo’s Hyperfuse 2011, Powe’s Jordan 6-17-23, and one of the more infrequent Feet sightings – the Air Jordan VII ‘Flint’ (a 2006 release). Nike Hyperfuse 2011 – Rajon Rondo + Russell Westbrook Home PE’s

nike hyperfuse 2011 rondo westbrook home pe Nike Hyperfuse 2011 Rajon Rondo + Russell Westbrook Home PEs

Among the great crimes against basketball fans perpetrated during the NBA’s latest lockout is how we’ve been robbed of one of the best crop of young point guards the league has ever seen.  These past few years have been absolutely electric as we’ve seen young 1s like Chris Paul and Derrick Rose take the position to new heights in the wake of Steve Nash’s back-to-back MVP awards in the middle of last decade.  The list goes on with guards like Deron Williams and the two guys pictured above all relying on the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 for their player exclusive sneaker needs.  Rajon Rondo and Russell Westbrook’s PEs are made to match ‘home’ looks for the Celtics and Thunder, respectively, the kind of thing that’d make Kendrick Perkins come to tears.  They could be tears of joy though, because these white-based Hyperfuse 2011s look quite crisp, especially Westbook’s ice-soled edition.  Click through for more images of both pairs and stick with Sneaker News for the latest NBA PE sneakers, 2011-12 season or no.  via Kenlu

Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 NBA PEs – New Images

July 5th, 2011 by | 5 comments

nike zoom hyperfuse 2011 nba pe kickscrew summary Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 NBA PEs New Images

We got our first look at a season that may never be this June when Nike Basketball showed off a bunch of player exclusive colorways for some of their most explosive players.  The Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 was teased in Rudy Gay, Russell Westbrook, Lamar Odom and, of course, Rajon Rondo PE colorways, and now we have a closer look at each pair.  Odom and Westbrook’s pairs are two-toned while Rondo and Gay add a third shade for their Swooshes, and we expect all of these to be fairly limited (House of Hoops, perhaps?).  Click through to see more photos of all four Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 PEs and grab them well in advance of the retail drop from Kicks-crew.
