It looks like LeBron James won’t be the only one rocking gold sneakers tonight, as Ray Allen will apparently suit up in this pair of the Air Jordan XVI in his first NBA game with the Miami Heat. Sure Ray might not get to enjoy the ring ceremony to the same extent as his teammates, but he’s part of the family now and may well be in line to grab one come next year. Click through with us to check out a shot of Ray practicing in his Air Jordan XVI ‘Gold’ PE (one that just might mean a Retro comeback is in the works for 2013), let us know what you think in the comments below, and be sure to look for them on-court tonight as Allen squares off against his former Boston Celtics squad for the first time.

In each and every one of our Air Jordan PE Spotlights (the Air Jordan II, V, VIII, XII, and XIII), Ray Allen came out on top. He’s the undisputed champion of Air Jordan Player Exclusives, and with the all-time greatest 3-point specialist joining yet another team in the Miami Heat, we can expect only an extension of Ray’s massive PE gallery. Let’s take it back to the ’06-’07 season when Ray was issued these Air Jordan V PEs; it grabs the Seattle Sonics ‘Home’ and ‘Away’ color-blocking perfectly, with the ‘Away’ doing its own ‘Thunder’ representation. One seller has both up for grabs at once, so check out the gallery below and throw in some offers to elbato22 on eBay.

Ray Allen’s Air Jordan Retro Player Exclusives prove that he’s sneaker game is untouchable (no disrespect to any of the winners in our 2012 NBA Feet Awards). During last night’s crucial Game 5 match-up between the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia Sixers, Ray proved again that his PE game is one lock as he wore the Air Jordan 2012 in a sick White/Green PE, matching his Boston Home threads. Ray’s role has diminished considerably, but you can bet his clutch sharpshooting will be deciding moments for Game 6 and a possible Game 7, so check out Ray in his latest PE heat after the jump and we’ll keep you in tune with more NBA Feet action! This postseason has been quite a showcase for sick kicks thus far. Gilbert Arenas wore the Air Jordan IV ‘Lightning’, Nick Young whipped out the Metallic Red Foamposites, and Kawhi Leonard of the Spurs rotated some white/black/grey Air Jordans during the First Round. It was only a matter of time that Ray Allen would shut down the competition with a PE of his own, and did so during Game 2 of Boston’s series against the Philadelphia Sixers with the Air Jordan VIII ‘Home’ PE; although the Celtics lost the game, Ray led the Celtics with 17 points off the bench. Is this the best NBA Feet sighting of the Playoffs thus far? Check out Ray and his kicks below and let us know what you think. Photos: espn

Ray Allen is so famous for his work ethic that motivational speakers make note of the fact that he still arrives at the arena three hours before every game, even sixteen years into his Hall of Fame career. It’s that kind of consistency that’s sharpened the sweetest jumper in the game and established ‘Sugar Ray’ as the NBA’s three-point king and arguably its greatest shooter of all-time. Ray and the Celtics are once again surprising people as they move forward in the Eastern Conference Playoffs, but it’s not like Ray hasn’t been here before, doing this exact same thing. Celtics team photographer Brian Babineau showed off Allen’s prep work in ‘The Routine’, a video in which you’ll see a few of Ray’s Air Jordan PEs in all their glory as he shoots in an empty TD Garden, all after the jump below.
