Stash x Reebok Classic – Teaser

September 25th, 2012 by | No comments

stash reebok packer Stash x Reebok Classic Teaser

The idea of a partnership between a major footwear brand and a collection of trend-setting retailers and artists isn’t a new concept, but it’s one still in use today by a wide variety of labels such as Reebok, New Balance, Asics, and more. Reebok’s been one of the bigger players in the ‘collaboration’ game this year, showing no reservations with its massive fifteen-pronged Reebok Workout 25th Anniversary Collection and its out-sourced designs of the Question, etc., and we’re sure to expect the same for 2013 as we get a look at a Reebok Classic designed by Josh ‘Stash’ Franklin – a true pioneer of the sneaker game.

What we see here is Stash’s signature grey/blue colorway (seen in his first Reebok collaboration with the Graphlite Pumps, done in conjunction with Packer Shoes) and a unique graphic pattern on the upper quarter that appears to be of a 3-D effect. A second pair of Classics in the background could either point to a second Stash design, or perhaps a design by another artist/store that may allude to a similar  collaborative capsule release like the Workouts. More below, so take a look and stay tuned for more updates.

It runs a bit deeper than that though, as Reebok is a brand that Alicia very much grew up with, with silos like the Reebok Freestyle particularly nostalgic for the multi-talented songstress. Click through with us to check out some behind the scenes shots from the recently debuted Alicia Keys x Reebok promo spot to debut that includes Keys herself giving a bit more background on the project and let us know if you’ll be scooping up any pairs.

The range was previewed last week but this time around we’ve got shots of a few more styles included along with the official word on the lot. In its entirety the group features pairs of the Freestyle Hi, Freestyle Double Bubble, Classic Nylon Slim and Princess, with a rift down the middle between the regal black and gold looks and the more lighthearted colorful pairs. Stay with us after the jump to check out all the sneaks as well as Alicia Keys herself making them look pretty good (and giving a background Q&A on the project) and let us know if you think her pairs can rival those of hubby’s Swizz Beatz as far as Reebok is concerned. Also, be on the lookout for the Alicia Keys x Reebok collection now at chain stores across the US.
