Reebok’s been in bed with graffiti artists both alive and deceased for a while now (RIP Keith Haring, Basquiat). Amongst the alive guys that they’ve got the privilege of working with is Stash, who went all camo for this upcoming batch of Reebok Pump releases. Included in the group are the Reebok Pump Omni Lite, the Reebok Dual Pump Runner, the Reebok Court Victory Pump, and the lesser-rertrod Reebok Pump AXT. Take a look at the wavy, blue and red styles with us after the click and then let us know which of the Spring 2014 offerings you’re looking forward to the most down in the comments.

Where oh where has the Reebok Pump AXT been? The model has been very much MIA since the Extra Butter team outfitted it with their “Achoo” colorway, a release that definitely registered as a high point in the model’s lifetime. Still no word on those, but what does appear to be coming back is the close relative Reebok Pump OXT, shown off here by Swizz Beatz, ever the spoiler of upcoming Reebok goods. As you can see, the colorway is a regal black and gold one, a palette that we’ve seen be successful plenty of previous times in their catalog. Continue reading for the full shot and stay tuned for possible release info on this Reebok Pump OXT.

Dave Chappelle’s Ahchoo referenced White Men Can’t Jump just a year after it hit theaters, but it took double as long between the eventual Billy & Sidney tribute and a sneaker inspired by Robin Hood: Men in Tights.  Leave it to theatrically-themed New York boutique Extra Butter to go a couple degrees further for the inspiration for their Reebok Pump AXT ‘Ahchoo’, a model met with serious anticipation by sneakerheads who lined up in the cold to have a shot at the splendid red suede design.  EB staff were on hand in burgundy hoodies with the same arrow’d logo that graced their storefront outside, and you can see a bunch of photos from inside the event after the jump below.

extra butter x reebok pump axt ahchoo release info Extra Butter x Reebok Pump AXT AHCHOO Release Info

Is the best Reebok sneaker release of 2011 one that hasn’t even dropped yet?  We’ll let you make the call in the Sneaker News 2011 Readers’ Choice Poll, but there’s no doubting the anticipation Extra Butter has managed to build up with their clever choice of inspiration and its execution.  The Extra Butter x Reebok Pump AXT ‘Ahchoo’ takes its theme from Dave Chappelle’s supporting role in Mel Brooks’ Robin Hood: Men in Tights and their crew even reprised one of the film’s forest scenes in what might also be one of the very best sneaker-related videos to hit the net this year.  The ‘Ahchoo’ Pump AXT will be available in store at midnight next Saturday, December 31st, with pairs to be made available online starting at 11am that morning.

Extra Butter x Reebok Pump AXT ‘AHCHOO’

While typically limited in nature, a well-done sneaker collaboration will yield these positive results; the consumer gets treated with an acutely re-energized classic shoe, the manufacturer earns some positive recognition for outside-the-box endeavors, and the other member of the collaborative partnership gets to show off a bit of personality. Extra Butter, the Long Island-based crew that has never shown any sort of hesitation in expressing their own unique drum beat, proves that creativity in a sneaker concept is as important as the sneaker model being featured, which is why it’s garnered so much internet-buzz in a short period of time. Just a few days ago, Extra Butter provided us with a teaser via a remake of a classic scene in Robin Hood: Men In Tights; great acting, production value, and attention to detail is what you’d expect from a perfect movie teaser, and Extra Butter certainly emulated that formulaic approach throughout the entire process. It certainly had the sneaker sub-culture buzzing about the Reebok Pump AXT (originally a training shoe meant for runners), a sneaker that admittedly has fallen on the wayside due to lack of exposure, and with the sick colorway inspired by Dave Chappelle’s ‘Ahchoo’ character, don’t be surprised if ‘Time To Get Pumped’ becomes a common theme in the sneaker game moving forward. When will these drop? New Year’s Eve. Check out the detailed images below as well as the entire Extra Butter x Reebok Pump AXT ‘AHCHOO’ video below and let us know what you think.

Bodega x Reebok Pump AXT ‘Cotton Mouth’

Given Boston’s status as college capital of the US, it should come as no surprise that some of the most innovative sneaker collaborations come from Beantown boutiques.  Concepts consistently raises the bar and with Bodega’s identity based in a rich theme, this one seems like something of a logical progression.  And even with this context established, the Bodega x Reebok Pump AXT ‘Cotton Mouth’ remains one of the most wildly unique tag team efforts we’ve ever seen.

The story starts with BDGA ‘intern’ Terry Blay, a name you’re probably not all that familiar with, considering dude’s more or less a Muppet.  So apparently Terry blacked out after a wild party during his short stint at Parsons, woke up in a classmate’s sneaker closet and found his entire life changed.  From that point Blay was obsessed with kicks and cites the ‘Tennis Ball’ Court Victory Pump as a key influence for this project.  His ‘Cotton Mouth’ rendition is equally well-conceived, a beige suede banger with red accents and a gum sole that’ll come with an array of Blay-inspired extras when they drop next Saturday, March 12th.  They’re sure to be an instant sellout and the level of detail involved in the concept rivals the very best collaborations of all time, so click through to see more of the BDGA x Reebok AXT and let us know what you think, then head over to SneakerFreaker to read their interview with Terry Blay.
