After a strong start to 2013, the Insta Pump Fury’s contemporary update had fallen silent for a bit. Luckily, the Reebok Pump Fury HLS is coming back with a trio of new styles that represent the model’s initial foray into the world of printed patterns. Three high contrast Pump Fury HLS colorups add camouflage to their heels, which creates different effects on the earthy, neon and tonal blue palettes used for each respective pair. Reebok is showing signs that its restructuring process emphasizes the brand’s strengths. The Pump line has been on the rise since the 20th anniversary capsule a few years back, and this classic technology has thrived on a variety of late ’80s and early ’90s models since. The (Insta) Pump Fury is particularly hot at the moment, the success of this 1994 throwback and its Reebok Pump Fury HLS update evident in recent collaborations and upcoming previews. This new release comes as something of a surprise, but its Spiderman-ish color palette is a familiar one for this techy classic, and you can see more after the jump before buying at select RBK retailers like Extra Butter.

American-based Sneaker News readers might not be intimately familiar with Japanese emcee Verbal’s lyrical styles, but we’ve seen quite a bit of his clothing label’s aesthetics lately thanks to a series of RBK collabs. The Verbal x Ambush x Reebok Insta Pump Fury HLS is pictured above in the all-blue counterpart to the red edition we previewed earlier this month, and is also slated to join the all-silver answer to last year’s first teamups. Here’s a closer look at what’s either the third or fourth Reebok Pump Fury HLS collaboration crafted by Japanese rapper Verbal’s Ambush design. Following up on the original black and white joints and set to be joined by an equally vibrant blue edition, this red RBK Pump Fury HLS is crafted in smooth and patent leathers and features a ‘Galaxy’-ish insole with glossy red branding applied to the heel. Reebok keeps rolling with its HLS series, updating their iconic runner whose 20th birthday next year might mean even more releases. The Reebok Pump Fury HLS is building momentum for what could be a birthday blowout in 2014, but before we speculate too much, these three new colorways deserve some time and attention. First up is a different use of the Citron yellow shade synonymous with the Insta Pump Fury, as laid on a white and grey base plus a bit of blue. Next up is a bold pair a bit closer to that Firecracker Red OG, the kind of palette you might expect from RBK had Yao Ming’s tenure in Houston had longer legs. Last up is an icey mix of black, Aviator Blue and white, and you’ll want to see each pair individually below before buying from Kicks-crew.

A model that’s been very quiet over the past six months with the exception of Stash’s collabo teaser and the second round of Verbal x Ambush colorups, the Reebok Pump Fury HLS returns with a dope new colorway for spring. The combination of black, dark blues and a minty sole makes for a perfect gradation and represents a new possibility in a world where it seems like every palette is established with its own nickname. Whether we’ll come to remember this particular Pump Fury HLS as its originator remains to be seen, but you can decide for yourself if they make the cut now that pairs are available at End.

Japanese rapper Verbal’s Ambush Design has contributed some eye-catching collaborative sneaker designs, but the latest manages to grab your attention with maximum efficiency. The colors are kept to a minimum on all of the Verbal x Ambush x Reebok Pump Fury HLS designs, but thanks to a glossy treatment on the angular overlay, subtly outlined monochromatic blue and red counterparts are equally ostentatious as their silver-accented white and black predecessors.
