reebok question pick release reminder 1 Reebok Question #1 Pick Release Reminder

The Reebok Question “#1 Pick” will release tomorrow, August 23rd. And with his official retirement announcement hitting us this week, it brings us back to 1996 when Allen Iverson was the only sure thing entering into the NBA Draft. It’s hard to believe with Kobe Bryant being drafted 13th as an unproven High School prospect, but the draft also featured the likes of Steve Nash, Ray Allen, and yet AI answered any question thrown at him during his tenure in Philadelphia and remained worthy of the first pick in a loaded draft. To commemorate his selection, his Reebok Question is featured with the number 1 replacing his signature 3 on the back heel while the upper is dressed in an homage to the Sixers’ alternate unis for Iverson’s rookie season with an all royal upper. Look below for more images and see if you can’t grab a pair early on eBay.

Before he was the Rookie of the Year he was the #1 pick in the 1996 NBA Draft. Celebrating that incredible first year for Allen Iverson is Reebok’s Question pair pictured. reebok question 3 pack release date Reebok Question #1 Pick Release Date

Regardless of what happened in 2003, the 1996 NBA Draft stands out as one of the all time greatest draft classes with stars like Steve Nash selected 15th overall, Kobe Bryant selected 13th, Ray Allen… you get the point. This draft was loaded with future All-Stars, Hall of Famers, League-Leaders and MVPs, but the number one pick in that draft was never in question. Allen Iverson’s impact to the game of basketball in the mid-90s to early 2000s was undeniable. They rewrote rules because of him and implemented a dress-code. In honor of AI, Reebok will be releasing his Reebok Question ‘#1 Pick’ late in August. The shoe features a Sixers’ royal blue, a speckled white midsole, and red accents while a number 1 is featured on the back to remind everyone whose name was called first on draft day. For more images, look below and let us know if you’ll be picking up this pair August 23rd.

reebok question 1 pick 1 Reebok Question #1 Pick

Sneaker News just showed you a wall of Reebok Classics from the Vector brand’s Project LV display, and here we have a closer look at one of the more intriguing designs from that Hexalite-heavy collection.  The ‘#1 Pick’ Reebok Question recalls that Allen Iverson’s 1996-97 Rookie of the Year campaign began a few months before the regular season when the struggling Philadelphia 76ers found the face of their franchise at the top spot of the draft.  Its steely blue nubuck (not the pebbled leather on the sample images) upper and speckled build are accented by varsity-style ’1′ embroidery on the heels, but despite the numbering, these’ll be on the way after Packer Shoes’ similar yet substantially different collaborative effort.  Have a closer look at this ‘#1 Pick’ Question after the jump, let us know if its nickname reflects your priorities for upcoming colorways on the original AI RBK signature and stick with Sneaker News for release info on this spring 2013 drop.
