reebok rail san atonio all star 01 Reebok Rail San Antonio

Reebok’s got another retro model that’s tied up in the colors of the 1996 NBA All-Star game. This time around it’s Glenn Robinson’s reborn Reebok Rail silhouette that gets the vibrant teal and pink combination. Of course Robinson wasn’t around the in All-Star game that year so this pair isn’t entirely historically accurate, but the colorway is a hard hitter regardless. Continue reading for some extra images and watch for this Reebok Rail colorway to arrive on Friday, April 25th at retailers like Finish Line, Champs, Jimmy Jazz, DTLR, Villa, Reebok.com for $100.

Things are moving so fast these days; just think back to how much has changed in the sneaker world since the ‘South Beach’ LeBron 8 debuted in 2010.  With the rate of change only accelerating, it’s crazy to imagine where we’ll be in another nearly two decades, which is about how long it’s been since Glenn Robinson’s Reebok Rail debuted at retail.  We get a bit of temporal disturbance with this new pair applying a South Beach or Miami Vice look to the Rail as rendered in suede with a patent leather Rail.  Check out some more angles after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for US release info.

Reebok Introduces The Rail in White, Black, and Gold

reebok rail black white gold 05 Reebok Introduces The Rail in White, Black, and Gold

The usage of gold in sneaker releases is one that we’re used to seeing linked up with specific achievements like a gold medal at the Olympics or a championship season. Whether or not that’s the case with this Reebok Rail isn’t quite clear, but for what it’s worth Glenn Robinson did sneak in a ring before exiting the league (He was an NBA Champion during the 2005 season with the Spurs). Then again, maybe it’s a throwback to his Purdue NCAA days. The upcoming white/black/gold version will be available at spots like Finish Line, Foot Locker, Jimmy Jazz, Eastbay, City Gear, Karmaloop.com and Reebok.com starting next Friday, March 21st. Continue reading for a detailed set of images on them and watch for more sneaker release dates right here.

Do you recall the Reebok Rail design we saw with those funky graphics attached? As it turns out, that sneaker will actually be released in conjunction with a similarly styled Reebok Q96. The two of them have been officially dubbed the “Hip Hop Appreciation Pack” thanks to their Native Tongues-era looking graphics (The Q96 in particular kind of comes off looking like a Tribe tribute). This past Friday, Reebok Classics resurrected the long-lost Glenn ‘Big Dog’ Robinson signature model.  The Reebok Rail officially returned in its original Milwaukee Bucks makeup, and now we’re learning about the official release for a new colorway that strangely popped up without any advance notice, available from at least one boutique back at the start of January.  Dubbed the ‘Hip Hop Appreciation’ Rail, this one has also been linked to Black History Month, and it’s releasing on Valentine’s Day, which is of course next Friday, the 14th (coincidentally, the first day of NBA All-Star festivities).  Click in to see how this multicolor Rail gets a boost from tribal graphics on the blue panels and let us know where these rank among your priorities for a weekend jam-packed with heat.
