There have been a number of Spiderman-inspired sneaker releases over the years, and while arguably the highest-profile among these were unauthorized Nike SB releases, there are indeed some Marvel-authored Peter Parker collabo releases on the market. While DC Comics has created a ton of Chuck Taylors in recent months, Stan Lee and co. have kept their official sneaker releases exclusive to RBK, these new Reebok ThermalVibe midtops easily the most technically advanced model used for a comic book collab. The only catch here is that these are done in pre-school sizes, so only the tiniest of sneakerheads will be able to fit into Spiderman and Black Spiderman pairs now available at FinishLine.

Nike has Hyperfuse, adidas has SprintFrame/SprintWeb, Reebok has . . . VibeTech? If you didn’t have any images and someone told you that RBK’s latest basketball shoe was called the ThermalVibe, you might reasonably deduce that they’re some kind of featherweight heat-bonded design. And even once you know that VibeTech is set to compliment the ZigTech lineup, it’s still reasonable to see ‘Reebok ThermalVibe’ and expect a laminated upper, but this model in fact goes for a more traditional leather build with synthetic inserts. Does the new cushioning platform suggest these can compete with John Wall’s signature next year?
