Keith Haring Foundation x Reebok Classics Part Two

Reebok Classics VP Todd Krinsky describes the brand’s partnership with the Keith Haring Foundation as a project that “Allows us to reimagine the artwork of this ground-breaking genius through a new medium that will appeal not only to his greatest fanst but also introduce Haring to a new generation.” The first set was a success in late January, and now we see a second drop of Keith Haring x Reebok Classics designs set to arrive on the first of April. The Keith Haring x Reebok Classic Leather Mid Lux, Freetyle Hi and Workout Plus each carry the artist’s signature Everyman, this time in a trio of high-contrast arrangements from the departed New York artist whose palettes sneakerheads typically associate with Chicago. Reebok Classics White Collection

A number of notable hip-hop celebrities recently celebrated with Reebok Classics for the White Collection – a full product line of tonal-white bangers ranging from the iconic Twilight Zone Pump to the game-changing DMX Run 10. Today, Reebok officially introduces the entire White Collection, which includes the Reebok Question Low, Workout Plus, Classic Leather, Workout Mid, Twilight Zone Pump, Exo-Fit Hi, Phase 1, and DMX Run 10. The entire pack will be available at retail on March 22nd at select locations like Foot Locker, Finish Line, Jimmy Jazz, City Gear, Shiekh Shoes, and Reebok.com, with MSRPs ranging from $65 to $120. Reebok Workout Plus Vintage Pack

It’s an exciting time to be a Reebok fan, as the Vector brand continues to dazzle us with upcoming Classics releases that reinforce just how valuable Swizz Beatz has been as Creative Director. After a period of missing out on opportunities to resonate with trending themes, we’re seeing a bunch of new retro releases including models like the DMX Run being treated to their first taste of casual luxury. These new Reebok Workout Plus lowtops are quite similar in their approach, utilizing monotone suede uppers whose white lining/laces give the off-white outsoles a vintage feel. These two are executed to perfection and have us hoping for more colors, so have another look below and stick with Sneaker News because the Japanese release suggests a stateside drop isn’t too far off.

Solebox x Reebok Workout 25th Anniversary ‘Tilapia’

Come February 15th, we’ll be absolutely buried in collaborative releases of the Reebok Workout Plus. In celebration of this silhouette’s 25th birthday, Reebok has linked up with 15 retailers around the globe, each of whom are giving their own spin on this key Reebok model from the pre-Pump era. Of course we’ve yet to see the collection in its entirety, but one of the standouts early on is the Solebox version with its fishy Tilapia look. The burnt brown of the scaly upper gives them a bit of a luxury look, an aesthetic is certainly aided by the premium materials in place. Starcow x Reebok Workout 25th Anniversary

It’s an international party for the Workout Plus’ 25th anniversary, with two of the fifteen upcoming collaborative releases previewed courtesy of stores in Berlin and Tokyo. Add Paris to this list of world cities, as the rue Saint-Honoré’s Starcow has contributed their own design to the collection now one fifth completed. The Starcow x Reebok Workout pushes this classic trainer toward a skate shoe with rich suede uppers and gum soles, a look that makes us wonder if the Vector brand will ever make a meaningful and lasting foray into the skate sneaker market. Whether that ever happens remains to be seen, but we know for sure that Starcow’s Workouts will be available along with the other teamups on February 15th, so stick with Sneaker News for the remaining dozen and click through for more images in the meantime.

mita sneakers x Reebok Workout 25th Anniversary

For those out there who hoped it never would end, is[n't] it a good thing that the Reebok Workout is going just as strong after 25 years as the Paula Abdul samples J.Cole borrowed for his hit single by the same name? The answer is an obvious ‘yes’, and seeing these 25th anniversary collaborative designs starting to roll in means proof positive that this shoe can handle more than that (still amazing) OG white leather/grey accent look. Coming on the heels of Solebox’ shipped-on-ice fishscale previews comes the mita sneakers Workout, a tribute to rugged workwear crafted in wheat heavy duty canvas with corded boot laces thrown in to complete the blue collar look. Solebox x Reebok Workout 25th Anniversary

By now, Sneaker News readers are fully aware of the fact that this year marks the Nike Air Force 1′s 30th anniversary, but let’s be careful not to forget another icon of 1980s style celebrating a monumental birthday of its own in 2012. The Reebok Workout Plus is classic ‘aerobics’-era design, a time when people somehow thought that dancing in place and eating low fat foods prescribed by a deck of color-coded cards could somehow get you looking like Arnold. And with this being the time when so many have resolved to lose weight, Solebox founder Hikmet Soeger competing against his brother Sükret in a ‘biggest loser’ style competition makes the fishscale theme of Solebox’ Workout Plus one of the most tightly wound themes in recent memory (especially considering that these kinds of challenges are widely considered unhealthy, even when compared to the aforementioned historical blunders). We’ve come to expect nothing less when Solebox collaborates on a sneaker release, but will you buy this first of fifteen Workout Plus collabos scheduled for the 25th birthday year?
